The automotive industry is gearing up for a landmark event as Automechanika Shanghai 2025 prepares to occupy all 15 halls of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai for the first time in its history. Taking place from 26 to 29 November 2025, the show anticipates a record turnout of 7,000 exhibitors across 383,000 square meters of exhibition space, making it one of the most significant global trade gatherings in the automotive calendar.

Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, remarked that Automechanika Shanghai has evolved into a powerful global platform for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. With participants from more than 180 countries and regions in 2024, the show continues to reinforce its role in shaping the future of the automotive industry. As it heads into its next edition, the fair aims to align its offerings with the latest industry developments, including fast-paced advancements and sustainability trends.

Automechanika Shanghai 2025 will showcase products and services covering the full automotive value chain, from research and development to manufacturing, sales, and after-sales services. Several zones will expand significantly in response to growing industry demands. The New Energy & Connectivity sector, for example, will increase in size by 50 percent, reaching 39,000 square meters. This area will highlight the latest in electric powertrains, hydrogen fuel cell technologies, charging infrastructure, and autonomous driving solutions. The Innovation4Mobility showcase will return with startup activations, forums, and live demonstrations that reflect emerging trends and future technologies.

The Digital Services / Solutions zone will focus on technologies that enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the aftermarket, including digital supply chain management, smart warehousing, and cross-border e-commerce tools. Meanwhile, the Tyres & Wheels sector will also see a 50 percent expansion, driven by rising innovation in EV-specific tyres and performance solutions.

More than 60 percent of exhibitors will cater to commercial vehicles, a sector undergoing transformation due to evolving logistics, transport models, and global trade flows. Other major sectors featured at the show include Parts & Components, Electrics & Electronics, Accessories & Customising, and Diagnostics & Repair / Body & Paint.

A robust line-up of fringe events will accompany the main exhibition. Li Zhang, General Manager of China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd, said that over 80 supporting events will enhance business and learning opportunities. These include discussions on electrification, sustainable growth, supply chain resilience, and digital transformation. Industry professionals can look forward to the International Automotive Industry Conference 2025, which will explore policy updates, market shifts, and global cooperation.

The International Automotive Industry Talent Development Conference 2025 will highlight workforce trends and skill development for younger generations, with complementary training programmes designed to meet future market demands. A new addition, the Automechanika Shanghai Technology Seminar Series, will feature expert-led sessions on topics such as electric drive systems, intelligent chassis, and tyre innovations.

Networking and business matchmaking will also play a central role. The Global Collective will focus on market expansion strategies in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America, while regional trade bodies will provide briefings on investment trends and successful overseas ventures. Additional opportunities include the Match Up business matching programme, themed networking receptions, and Press Connect for media engagement.
