    Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 concluded successfully, receiving positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors who valued the meaningful connections made throughout the three-day event. The expanded exhibition, covering the entire automotive value chain from manufacturing to the aftermarket, featured 311 exhibitors engaging with 15,098 visitors across six halls of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This extensive space fostered business exchanges, educational opportunities, and entertainment experiences, highlighted by the unveiling of cutting-edge technologies and innovations in automation, connectivity, digitalisation, and new energy. These advancements are driving growth and injecting dynamism into the regional automotive market.

    The event saw participation from 311 exhibitors representing 21 countries and regions, while visitors hailed from 61 countries, with international attendees making up 21 percent of the total. Spanning 12,538 square meters across halls 1 to 6, the fair hosted 29 fringe events and activities organised both by the event’s organisers and industry associations.

    Ms Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, expressed her satisfaction with the show’s expansion to six halls, noting that the increased space facilitated wider engagement across the automotive value chain and created more opportunities for networking, collaboration, and recreation. She emphasised the innovative spirit of the ASEAN automotive industry reflected in the event and expressed optimism for even greater success in 2026.

    At the opening ceremony, Mr Faizal Mohd Yusof, Senior Director of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, highlighted Automechanika Kuala Lumpur as a dynamic platform that mirrors the evolving automotive landscape and Malaysia’s important role in driving regional and global progress. He pointed out Malaysia’s commitment, as ASEAN Chair for 2025, to support regional development, particularly in the automotive sector, noting the event’s focus on energy transition, electrification, and digitalisation shaping the future of automotive mobility and logistics.

    Participants praised the event for staying at the forefront of industry trends, showcasing technologies that are key to the sector’s future. The Automotive Mobility Solutions Zone featured the latest innovations in digitalisation and electrification, transforming supply chain operations, logistics efficiency, and customer satisfaction, with special attention to energy transition, new energy vehicle adoption, cybersecurity, and digital solutions.

    The exhibition also highlighted the growing importance of environmental awareness and emerging lifestyle trends. The new Outdoor, Camping, Campervan & Caravan, Motorsport, JDM & Classic Cars zone celebrated automotive subcultures and responded to lifestyle shifts, providing an engaging experience for attendees.

    Leading brands participated across various sectors including Passenger, Commercial Vehicles & Fleets, and Automotive Repair & Maintenance. Notable exhibitors such as Alienworld, Emerald, Launch, Lucas, OBD, Schmaco, Sime Darby, SWJ, Vanli, and YonMing presented breakthrough technologies and products, reinforcing the event’s role as a comprehensive automotive marketplace.

    Fringe programme events received warm reception and proved to be productive meeting points for industry professionals. The Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference featured 28 speakers from companies such as Amazon Web Services, Auto Data Technology, EV Connection, Proton, Stellantis, and Volvo, engaging over 517 attendees. Concurrently, the Collision Repair Training Workshop provided practical training on the latest repair techniques and tools for ICE, hybrid, and new energy vehicles, with live demonstrations and product showcases from industry leaders like Glasurit Malaysia, Kansai, KSJC, Sagola, and Liqui Moly.

    The autoFEST@KL activities attracted a diverse audience, celebrating automotive culture through music parties and displays of iconic vehicles such as the Packard Clipper Deluxe, Porsche 911, Volvo P1800, and Toyota AE86, adding entertainment and educational value to the fair experience.

    The international dimension of the event was apparent, with exhibitors from 21 countries and regions and 39 percent representing Southeast Asia’s emerging markets. Buyers came from 61 countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the UAE, the US, and Vietnam. Delegations from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Türkiye also attended, exploring opportunities in the dynamic automotive sector.

    Exhibitors and buyers praised the event’s vibrant environment as an ideal platform to form partnerships and collaborate across the automotive value chain. Many reported successful networking, business development, and access to emerging markets and technologies.

    Feedback from participants ranged from Malaysian companies expanding their product ranges and engaging international buyers, to international exhibitors appreciating the platform’s importance in Southeast Asia. Training partners highlighted the practical value of sessions focused on electrification and new energy vehicle maintenance, while conference speakers stressed the importance of digital transformation and Industry 4.0 advancements.
