McDonald’s Malaysia Clinches Dual Honours at 2025 Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards

McDonald’s Malaysia has once again been honoured for its impactful community efforts, bringing home two prestigious awards at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2025. This marks the company’s eighth consecutive year as an award recipient, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community care.

The quick-service restaurant chain was recognised with the Corporate Compassion Excellence Award, as well as the Long-Standing Excellence Award for the second year in a row – a testament to McDonald’s Malaysia’s sustained dedication to improving lives beyond its business.

Held under the theme “Beyond Profits, Making Our World a Better Place,” this year’s ceremony highlighted organisations with deep-rooted community impact. The event was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.

“Receiving these recognitions year after year is both humbling and inspiring,” said Dato’ Haji Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald’s Malaysia. “It reinforces our belief that our role goes far beyond serving meals – it’s about making a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.”

At the heart of McDonald’s Malaysia’s CSR efforts is its flagship initiative, Program Komuniti @ McDonald’s, which delivers over 10,000 community-focused initiatives annually. These span key areas such as children’s welfare, education, food assistance, festive outreach, and frontline support – all aimed at uplifting diverse segments of Malaysian society.

“Our purpose of feeding and fostering communities is not just a slogan – it’s embedded in everything we do,” Azmir added. “We’re proud to be a part of Malaysia’s social fabric and will continue playing our part to build a more caring and inclusive nation.”

Now in its 10th edition, the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards continues to spotlight corporations that lead with heart, proving that businesses can – and should – drive positive societal impact alongside profitability.
