HONOR Unveils New Corporate Strategy: Embracing the Future of AI Devices

HONOR, a leading global technology brand, has introduced its bold new corporate strategy, the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, at an event in Barcelona, Spain. The plan outlines HONOR’s transition from being a traditional smartphone manufacturer to a prominent leader in the AI device ecosystem. This visionary strategy is focused on co-creating an open, value-sharing ecosystem that aims to maximize human potential, revolutionizing industries and society as a whole.

James Li, CEO of HONOR, emphasized the profound impact AI will have on reshaping productivity, culture, and society. He called on industry leaders and innovators to join forces to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities AI presents. “The AI revolution will redefine the entire device industry,” said Li. “To truly embrace the future of AI, we must unite to build a collaborative, open ecosystem.”

The HONOR ALPHA PLAN is a three-phase strategy aimed at shaping the future of AI technology. The first phase focuses on developing intelligent devices, with a special emphasis on smartphones that are powered by cutting-edge AI technologies. HONOR plans to work closely with partners to create new boundaries in technology, aiming to lead the charge in what is known as the “Agentic AI Era.” The second phase will see HONOR expanding the AI ecosystem, working across industries to co-create an interconnected, AI-driven world. In the final phase, HONOR envisions a world in the “AGI Era,” where human potential is unlocked through seamless integration with artificial intelligence.

A key component of this transformation is the development of an intelligent phone designed to utilize human-centric AI to enhance everyday life. HONOR showcased its groundbreaking GUI-based personal mobile AI agent during the event, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud and Qualcomm Technologies. This AI agent can, for example, make table reservations while considering a user’s calendar appointments and traffic conditions. HONOR aims to bring these intelligent, agent-driven experiences to its global customers in the near future.

Additionally, HONOR is taking mobile photography to the next level with AiMAGE, a revolutionary imaging technology powered b y the AI Kernel. AiMAGE utilizes both on-device and cloud-based AI models, improving image clarity by up to 50% and enhancing telephoto images using larger computing resources. Through collaborations with Google Cloud and other partners, HONOR is integrating even more intuitive AI features to expand the possibilities of smartphone photography. A standout feature, AI Upscale, will be introduced in March 2025 on the HONOR Magic7 series, enabling users to restore old portraits with remarkable detail.

In another impressive development, HONOR revealed its all-ecosystem file-sharing technology, which allows for ultra-fast file transfers between iOS and Android devices. This technology aims to revolutionize how users interact with their devices, offering seamless, high-speed transfers across platforms. HONOR also announced the upcoming rollout of AI Deepfake detection technology, which will be featured in its latest flagship devices, including bar phones and foldable phones.

As part of the second phase of the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, the company is committed to fostering an open, collaborative AI ecosystem. To this end, HONOR has announced plans to invest more than USD 10 billion over the next five years, working alongside key industry players to ensure that AI capabilities are accessible across a wide range of devices. This investment is aimed at co-creating a shared ecosystem where the benefits of AI are distributed widely, allowing for faster, more efficient innovation across industries.

In addition, HONOR has made a bold commitment to providing seven years of Android OS and security updates for its HONOR Magic series in the European Union. This move highlights the company’s consumer-centric approach, ensuring that its devices remain secure and up-to-date for years to come. HONOR also pledged to accelerate its sustainability initiatives, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, five years ahead of its original target. The company’s broader sustainability goal includes carbon neutrality across its entire supply chain and product portfolio by 2050.

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, HONOR introduced several new products, expanding its range of offerings for international markets. The HONOR MagicBook Pro 14, with its elegant vine-leaf curved design, combines powerful performance with exceptional battery life, thanks to the integration of HONOR Turbo X technology. The HONOR Pad V9 offers an ultra-thin form factor with an industry-leading 2.8K HONOR Eye Comfort Display, creating an optimal experience for both learning and productivity.

For fitness enthusiasts, the HONOR Watch 5 Ultra delivers up to 15 days of battery life, helping users stay on track with their fitness goals. HONOR also introduced HONOR Earbuds Open, ergonomically designed earbuds that provide excellent sound quality while supporting AI-powered real-time translation and interpretation.

HONOR’s ALPHA PLAN represents a bold, forward-thinking vision for the future of AI-powered devices, positioning the company as a major player in shaping the AI-driven world. Through its innovative approach to technology, strategic partnerships, and commitment to sustainability, HONOR is poised to lead the way in transforming how consumers interact with intelligent devices.
