Bhd. The initiative, which began on 1 July 2025, is now live across all Sime Motors dealerships in Peninsular Malaysia, setting a new benchmark for responsible end-of-life tyre management.
This first-of-its-kind programme by a Malaysian automotive retail group represents a major step in reducing the environmental impact of used tyres. By introducing a fully closed-loop recycling process, Sime Motors reaffirms its position as a pioneer in sustainable automotive practices throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The programme will see tyres from all Sime Motors service centres including brands like BMW, MINI, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, BYD, Denza, Drivecare, and Auto Selection transported to Evergreen’s advanced recycling facility. Using Advanced Thermal Recovery Green Technology, Evergreen is able to convert tyres into industrial-grade carbon black, fuel oil, and recovered steel with 100% material recovery and low emissions.
Evergreen Corporate is also recognised for its leadership in environmental responsibility, having received the ESG Gold rating from the Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC). This underscores its position as one of the country’s leading players in green innovation.

Held at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition and Convention Center, this year’s event achieved record-breaking participation, underscoring its role as a vital driver of innovation, sustainability, and transformation within Southwest China’s automotive ecosystem.
With 773 exhibitors across 52,000 sqm of exhibition space and 21,896 trade visitors from 26 countries and regions, CAPAS 2025 showcased cutting-edge developments in new energy technologies, smart connectivity, aftermarket services, and supply chain integration. The Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference featured 28 speakers from companies such as Amazon Web Services, Auto Data Technology, EV Connection, Proton, Stellantis, and Volvo, engaging over 517 attendees. Concurrently, the Collision Repair Training Workshop provided practical training on the latest repair techniques and tools for ICE, hybrid, and new energy vehicles, with live demonstrations and product showcases from industry leaders like Glasurit Malaysia, Kansai, KSJC, Sagola, and Liqui Moly.
The autoFEST@KL activities attracted a diverse audience, celebrating automotive culture through music parties and displays of iconic vehicles such as the Packard Clipper Deluxe, Porsche 911, Volvo P1800, and Toyota AE86, adding entertainment and educational value to the fair experience.
The international dimension of the event was apparent, with exhibitors from 21 countries and regions and 39 percent representing Southeast Asia’s emerging markets. Buyers came from 61 countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the UAE, the US, and Vietnam. Delegations from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Türkiye also attended, exploring opportunities in the dynamic automotive sector.
Exhibitors and buyers praised the event’s vibrant environment as an ideal platform to form partnerships and collaborate across the automotive value chain. Many reported successful networking, business development, and access to emerging markets and technologies.

The 11th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS Chengdu) returns from 22 to 24 May 2025 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition and Convention Center. This year’s edition marks a milestone with a record 52,000 square metres of exhibition space and 773 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations across the automotive supply chain. The spotlight is on new energy vehicles (NEVs) and intelligent mobility, making the show a key driver for industrial growth in Southwest China.
Beyond the exhibition floor, CAPAS 2025 will host 23 concurrent events focused on talent development, regional collaboration, supply chain enhancement, and automotive culture. With international visitors from over 40 countries and regions, along with buyers from 26 Chinese provinces and 50 industry groups, the event plays a vital role in supporting business exchanges and industry transformation within the Chengdu-Chongqing Dual-city Economic Rim.

Newcomers like Biaobang, Carxpert, Longding Light, and others are joining the show to tap into new opportunities in the Southwest China market. Regional pavilions from Chongqing and 16 municipalities in Sichuan will feature prominent exhibitors such as Chuannan Shock Absorber, CRRC, Fengchuan Powertrain, Hyundai Truck & Bus, Kaiyi Auto, and Sangsin Brake. Throughout the three-day fair, 23 concurrent events will offer deep insights into the industry’s evolving landscape. Among the highlights are the International Automotive Industry Education and Talent Development Conference, which will explore workforce strategies and upskilling; the Elite Development Open Course, which provides career guidance for vocational students; and the New Energy Vehicle Services and Marketing Empowerment Training, which focuses on EV servicing and digital strategies. Practical training on EV maintenance and diagnostics will also be provided by leading companies such as Balance, Bee Zhixiang New Energy, and Sichuan Zhongxingwang.
The Chengdu-Chongqing Automotive, Charging and Swapping Matchmaking Conference 2025, held on the opening day, will bring together stakeholders from government, industry, and logistics sectors to discuss EV investment and infrastructure. CAPAS will also host, for the first time, the Automotive Dealer Service Innovation Conference and Precise Supply-Demand Matchmaking Event 2025 in collaboration with the China Automobile Dealers Association. This initiative will support OEMs, suppliers, and dealers in strengthening supply chains and addressing the impact of electrification on business operations.
CAPAS is set to attract overseas buyers from markets such as Brunei, Colombia, India, Indonesia, the UAE, the United States, and Uzbekistan. These visitors are expected to explore opportunities in NEV manufacturing, supply chains, and the aftermarket. Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 (AMKL2025), pameran perdagangan automotif terulung di rantau ini, membuka tirainya dengan penuh gilang-gemilang di Pusat Konvensyen Kuala Lumpur (KLCC), menampilkan penyertaan 311 pempamer dari 21 negara. Dirasmikan oleh Pengarah Kanan Bahagian Pembangunan Industri, Kementerian Pelaburan, Perdagangan dan Industri (MITI), Faizal Mohd Yusof, acara ini memperkukuh kedudukan Malaysia sebagai hab automotif serantau menjelang kepengerusian ASEAN 2025.
Berlangsung dari 15 hingga 17 Mei, edisi kali ini menyaksikan penganjuran dalam enam dewan pameran – satu peningkatan ketara yang mencerminkan pertumbuhan minat terhadap industri automotif Malaysia. Pameran tiga hari ini membawakan kepelbagaian segmen kenderaan, termasuk model pasaran domestik Jepun (JDM), kereta klasik, serta modifikasi audio, sekali gus menawarkan pengalaman menyeluruh kepada pemain industri dan pengguna umum.
