Hektar REIT and the Dignity for Children Foundation
Good nutrition forms the bedrock of a bright future and Hektar Asset Management Sdn Bhd, the manager of Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (Hektar REIT) is putting this belief into action. Marking World Food Day, Hektar REIT has contributed RM10,000 to the Dignity for Children Foundation Malaysia to sponsor daily meals for 100 underprivileged children throughout October 2026.
The partnership focuses on tackling food insecurity while boosting educational outcomes. Under Dignity’s Daily Meals Programme, students receive a wholesome main meal and a snack every school day, freshly cooked on-site. The rotating menu balances nutrition with local appeal, offering favorites like nasi lemak, chicken fried rice and dhal curry paired with nutritious snacks like fresh fruit and milk.
Connecting Nutrition to Educational Development
Nutrition and education go hand in hand. With steady nourishment, children are less distracted by hunger, enabling them to focus better in class, absorb lessons more effectively and participate actively in holistic development activities.
Sabrina Halim, Chief Operating Officer of Hektar Asset Management, shared her insights on the initiative. “Through our collaboration with Dignity, we hope to contribute towards creating a supportive environment where children can focus on their education and development while receiving the daily nourishment they need,” she said.
For decades, Dignity for Children Foundation has worked tirelessly to uplift marginalised youth through education, vocational training and life skills equipping them with the tools needed to overcome poverty.
