  • AIM24 Bawa Pembaharuan dengan Anugerah Lagu Paling Tinggi Distrim & Kepentingan ISRC

    Persatuan Industri Rakaman Malaysia (RIM) tampil memberi penjelasan mengenai kategori anugerah ‘Lagu Paling Tinggi Distrim’ di Anugerah Industri Muzik ke-24 (AIM24). Menurut RIM, pemenang bagi kategori ini ditentukan sepenuhnya berdasarkan data penstriman yang dibekalkan kepada pihak mereka oleh penyedia data pihak ketiga melalui proses automatik tanpa sebarang campur tangan manual.

    RIM turut menjelaskan mengenai kedudukan lagu “Old Love” nyanyian Yuji dan Putri Dahlia yang tidak tersenarai dalam Carta Domestik RIM, iaitu carta mingguan rasmi yang menyenaraikan lagu tempatan paling tinggi distrim di Malaysia. Keadaan ini berlaku disebabkan isu teknikal berkaitan pendaftaran kod ISRC bagi lagu berkenaan.

    ISRC atau International Standard Recording Code merupakan pengenal pasti unik dan kekal bagi setiap rakaman bunyi serta rakaman video muzik yang diterbitkan. Ia berfungsi sebagai cap jari digital yang membolehkan penjejakan jualan, penstriman dan royalti dilaksanakan dengan tepat merentasi pelbagai perkhidmatan serta platform di seluruh dunia. Bagi memastikan sesebuah lagu dapat dikenal pasti sebagai keluaran tempatan Malaysia dalam Carta Domestik RIM, ISRC yang didaftarkan perlu bermula dengan awalan negara “MY”. Tag ini digunakan bagi membolehkan sistem automatik mengklasifikasikan rakaman tersebut sebagai sebahagian daripada hasil rakaman tempatan.

    Dalam kes lagu “Old Love”, pendaftaran dilakukan dengan tiga ISRC berbeza yang bermula dengan awalan luar negara seperti SE, TL dan QZ, bukannya MY. Akibatnya, sistem automatik tidak dapat mengenal pasti lagu tersebut sebagai rakaman tempatan Malaysia. Hal ini menjelaskan mengapa walaupun “Old Love” mencapai jumlah strim yang tinggi, ia tidak diambil kira dalam Carta Domestik RIM dan seterusnya tidak layak dipertimbangkan dalam kategori AIM24 ‘Lagu Paling Tinggi Distrim’.

    RIM mengambil maklum terhadap isu ini dan menegaskan kepentingan mendaftarkan ISRC melalui RIM bagi semua rakaman muzik yang diterbitkan di Malaysia. Langkah tersebut amat penting bagi memastikan artis serta penerbit tempatan menerima pengiktirafan sewajarnya dalam carta rasmi industri muzik dan juga dalam pertimbangan anugerah.

    RIM turut menggesa semua pihak berkepentingan dalam industri muzik termasuk label, pengedar dan artis bebas untuk bekerjasama dengan RIM dalam memastikan pendaftaran kod ISRC menggunakan awalan negara “MY” bagi semua rakaman tempatan. Tindakan ini bukan sahaja akan mengelakkan isu seumpamanya berulang pada masa hadapan, malah turut menjamin penonjolan karya muzik serta bakat artis Malaysia di peringkat tempatan dan antarabangsa.

  • International Fashion Chamber Malaysia Empowers Local Designers and Strengthens Global Ties

    The International Fashion Chamber Malaysia (IFCM) is emerging as a key force in shaping the nation’s fashion industry. Founded by Dr. Leena Al-Mujahed, IFCM was established with the mission of providing a unified platform for local designers, bridging the gap between artistic creativity and commercial success.

    Officially launched in July this year, the Chamber has quickly begun making its mark. For its first year, IFCM has set ambitious goals that include building a strong local and international presence, forming strategic partnerships, and serving as a leading advocate for both the fashion industry and fashion education in the region.

    “Our slogan is to connect creativity with commerce,” said Dr. Leena during the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025) Modest Fashion Show & Forum in Kuala Lumpur. She emphasized that there was a growing need for a single platform that could bring together designers while equipping them with the resources necessary for growth and sustainability.

    The Chamber’s first major collaboration was as a strategic partner for the Modest Fashion Show at MIHAS 2025. Dr. Leena described the partnership as a turning point in positioning modest fashion not only as an expression of cultural heritage but also as an important global economic sector. She highlighted that modest fashion represents a billion-dollar industry with significant potential for growth and international exposure, and stressed that supporting this sector is essential for both cultural and economic reasons.

    Since opening membership in June, IFCM has recorded steady growth, reflecting the strong demand for its initiatives. Moving forward, the Chamber aims to broaden its membership base, pursue additional strategic partnerships, and continue its mission of elevating Malaysian fashion on the global stage.

    The MIHAS Modest Fashion Show offered a dynamic program of forums and presentations that brought together experts from across the industry. Among the highlights was the Fashion Business Beyond Borders Forum, where speakers from Kraftangan Malaysia, PEFEM, and the Malaysia-Pakistan Business Council explored the intersections of heritage, entrepreneurship, and trade. Another session, a Fireside Chat with Allianz, focused on Fashion Risk and Operational Coverage, offering practical guidance for small and medium-sized fashion enterprises to safeguard their businesses. Malaysia’s pioneering image consultant, Datin Norma Norell, also delivered a special presentation on image and personal branding, sharing insights into presence, confidence, and style.

    The day culminated with the MIHAS Modest Fashion Show curated for the first time by IFCM. The runway celebrated modesty, cultural heritage, and innovation, featuring designers from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Dubai. Among the standout Malaysian participants were Arlina Ayou, who combined traditional batik with leather craftsmanship, Bill Keith, who presented a collection inspired by the Sahara Desert, and Casalwa by Datin Sharifah Salwa Syed Shafie, whose “Whispers of Modesty” collection highlighted hibiscus motifs blended with traditional attire. Yani Bakhtiar also drew attention with Arabian-inspired modest wear accented with intricate beadwork.

    Designers from Indonesia added further richness to the showcase. 3G by Icha Key USA presented “Sriwijaya Revival,” a collection celebrating Palembang’s songket artistry and the grandeur of the Sriwijaya Empire, while Donahue by Tanti introduced “Jogja Everyday Modesty,” which featured Yogyakarta-inspired batik, lambskin leather bags, and handcrafted shoes that balanced traditional craftsmanship with modern lifestyle needs.

    MIHAS 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and organized by MATRADE, took place from September 17 to 20 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

  • Pertandingan Memasak Sekolah Menengah MAGGI® 2025 Angkat Kreativiti Pelajar Kedah

    MAGGI® bersama Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia terus komited memperkasa generasi muda untuk mencorakkan kepelbagaian makanan Malaysia melalui asas pemakanan yang betul, kreativiti dan inovasi. Dari utara hingga ke ibu negara, bakat kulinari muda dari Kedah telah menyerlah di pentas Pertandingan Memasak Sekolah Menengah MAGGI® (MSSCC) ke-28 dengan mempersembahkan cita rasa dan tradisi utara yang unik ke peringkat kebangsaan.

    Dengan tema tahun ini, “Ramuan Warisan, Citarasa Negeri”, seramai 866 pelajar berumur 13 hingga 17 tahun dari 16 negeri tampil membayangkan semula hidangan tradisi dengan sentuhan kreatif. Pertandingan kali ini turut memperluaskan penyertaan kepada pelajar Tingkatan 4 dan Tingkatan 5, selaras dengan matlamat MAGGI® untuk memberi lebih banyak peluang kepada belia mempelajari asas makanan serta membina hubungan yang sihat dengan makanan, di samping menggalakkan amalan pemakanan yang seimbang. Peserta dari Kedah berjaya menambat hati juri melalui hidangan berinspirasikan ramuan tempatan, tradisi dan kaedah warisan, membuktikan bahawa masakan serantau adalah khazanah penting dalam membentuk masa depan landskap kulinari negara.

    Sejak tahun 1997, kerjasama berterusan MAGGI® bersama Kementerian Pendidikan telah memperkasa hampir 350,000 pelajar, bukan sahaja dalam kemahiran memasak asas tetapi juga dalam membina kemahiran hidup seperti disiplin, kerjasama sepasukan dan daya kreatif. Di Kedah, pelajar dari seluruh negeri berkumpul di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Syed Omar, Alor Setar bagi menyertai pertandingan akhir peringkat negeri yang menjadi lambang ketabahan, kebanggaan budaya serta perkembangan diri.

    Para juri menilai setiap hidangan dengan penuh teliti, memastikan ia mencerminkan pemahaman pelajar tentang keseimbangan dalam masakan serta memperlihatkan daya kreativiti melalui penyediaan dan persembahan yang rapi.

    Penolong Pengarah Sektor Pembangunan Murid, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Kedah, Encik Awang Rosnadi Bin Awang Rosli, menzahirkan penghargaan kepada Nestlé Malaysia dan MAGGI® atas komitmen menganjurkan program ini setiap tahun. Beliau menekankan bahawa usaha ini selari dengan aspirasi Kementerian Pendidikan untuk melahirkan pelajar yang cemerlang bukan sahaja dalam akademik tetapi juga dalam kemahiran insaniah. Menurutnya, MSSCC bukan sahaja menyuntik amalan pemakanan sihat malah turut melatih daya kreatif, kerjasama, disiplin dan pengurusan masa dalam kalangan generasi muda serta membuka peluang untuk meneroka potensi dalam bidang pemakanan yang kini semakin diiktiraf sebagai kerjaya bernilai.

    Cik Ivy Tan Link Cheh, Pegawai Eksekutif Perniagaan MAGGI® Malaysia dan Singapura, pula berkata bahawa melalui MSSCC, dengan sokongan berterusan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri, MAGGI® berhasrat melahirkan belia berbakat yang yakin, bersemangat dan mahir dari segi praktikal. Beliau menegaskan pertandingan ini bukan sekadar meraikan tukang masak harian, tetapi menggalakkan pelajar membina hubungan positif dengan makanan melalui penerokaan kreatif. Tambah beliau, MSSCC juga memberi peluang kepada pelajar untuk menghayati warisan masing-masing melalui makanan dan menjadikan pentas ini wadah penyatuan budaya melalui hidangan.

    Di Kedah, juri telah menobatkan Aidil Zikry Bin Mohd Noor Izhham dan Nur Syifa Syadrina Binti Mohamad Azam dari Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mahsuri untuk mewakili negeri tersebut ke peringkat akhir kebangsaan. Hidangan kemenangan mereka, Nasi Cubit Cubit dan Ikan Pekasam Sambal Kantan Nenas, menampilkan ikan pekasam sebagai simbol warisan kulinari utara. Para finalis lain turut menonjol dengan idea segar, daripada penggunaan hasil tempatan secara mampan hinggalah gabungan resipi keluarga dengan teknik moden yang lebih inovatif.

    Juara MSSCC 2024, Muhammad Ammaruddin bin Jasni dan Aidil Zikry bin Mohd Noor Izhham, turut memberi dorongan kepada peserta baharu dengan menekankan bahawa kemenangan mereka pada tahun lalu telah membuka banyak peluang. Mereka berpesan agar cef muda terus bereksperimen, menghargai warisan, mengekalkan pemakanan seimbang serta berani berkongsi cerita melalui hidangan masing-masing.

    Grand Finale MSSCC 2025 bakal berlangsung pada bulan Oktober dengan menghimpunkan 16 pasukan negeri yang akan bersaing untuk merebut gelaran juara kebangsaan. Pertandingan ini dijangka menjadi pentas berprestij bagi menyatukan warisan, kreativiti dan semangat kulinari generasi muda Malaysia.

  • Polis Evo: Satu Dekad Dominasi Aksi Filem Malaysia

    Polis Evo meraikan ulang tahun ke-10 dengan penuh meriah, menandakan satu dekad francais aksi kepolisan terbitan Astro Shaw yang telah mencipta legasi kukuh dalam industri filem tempatan. Kejayaan tiga buah filem di bawah francais ini menjadi bukti bahawa Polis Evo telah mengangkat standard filem Malaysia melalui kekuatan penceritaan, kualiti visual yang bertaraf antarabangsa, strategi pemasaran kreatif serta kutipan box-office yang mengagumkan.

    Acara sambutan bertajuk Polis Evo Wonda-Ful 10 Tahun yang dikuasakan oleh Kopi WONDA menghimpunkan barisan pelakon daripada ketiga-tiga siri filem.     Huawei’s Executive Director of the Board, David Wang, unveiled the new HUAWEI eKit 4+10+N SME Intelligence Solutions at the HUAWEI eKit Autumn Launch 2025 in Shanghai. Themed “Together for Growth, All Intelligence,” the event highlighted Huawei’s commitment to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises with one-stop scenario-based solutions that provide last-mile services in their intelligent transformation journey.

    Artificial intelligence is steadily finding its place in the business world. While its current use largely revolves around intelligent assistants designed to support employees, future applications are expected to be deeply integrated into core production systems. This evolution will reshape products, services, and business models, making AI a powerful engine of growth. SMEs, which play an essential role in economic development, face unique challenges in this transition. In China alone, there are more than 58 million SMEs, contributing over 80 percent of urban jobs and generating 60 percent of the national GDP. However, many SMEs still struggle to adopt AI due to low awareness, limited technical capabilities, and difficulties in applying AI effectively.

    Speaking at the launch event, David Wang emphasized that intelligence should be as accessible as water and electricity, expressing his hope that every person, home, and organization can benefit from AI. He stressed Huawei’s readiness to help SMEs overcome the challenges of adoption and accelerate their journey toward intelligent transformation, ensuring that no one is left behind.

    To meet the needs of SMEs, many of which lack the resources to develop AI solutions independently, Huawei has shifted its approach from selling standalone products to offering comprehensive, scenario-based solutions. These solutions are easier for installers to deliver and are designed with real-world business applications in mind. The newly released HUAWEI eKit 4+10+N SME Intelligence Solutions embody this vision. The “4” represents four core scenarios common across SME operations: intelligent office, intelligent business, intelligent education, and intelligent healthcare. The “10” refers to ten one-stop, scenario-based solutions launched at the event, such as SME office, intelligent hotel, digital diagnosis platforms, and interactive classroom solutions. The “N” represents a series of specialized products that complement these scenarios.

    Among the twenty-six products introduced under this framework were the HUAWEI eKitEngine AR180 series enterprise-grade routers, which integrate routing, switching, Wi-Fi, and VPN functionalities. Huawei also introduced new IdeaHub products that bring together AI-powered conferencing, acoustic baffle features, and intelligent applications. All of these offerings feature integrated designs, intelligent interactions, and robust security.

    Wang explained that Huawei’s goal is to handle complexity on behalf of its customers and partners, allowing them to focus on growth. The new solutions not only improve development and delivery efficiency but also empower distribution partners with greater sales enablement. These include easier access to resources, solution demonstrations, and scenario-based configuration plans that simplify product selection and design for both installers and customers. Delivery services are also streamlined through unified installation, centralized network management, and consolidated customer support, ensuring a smoother path for SMEs to adopt AI technologies.

    Wang concluded his keynote by reaffirming Huawei’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with distribution partners and installers to bring the benefits of intelligence to SMEs. He noted that these solutions represent the “last mile” of the intelligent world, making AI adoption more attainable for businesses everywhere.

    Looking ahead, Huawei will continue its exploration of AI at HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, which runs from September 18 to 20 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center and the Shanghai Expo Center.   • Jelajah “PISTOL & BUNGA” Angkat Legenda Rock ke Generasi Muda

    Fakulti Pengurusan Seni Budaya dan Warisan Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA) dengan kerjasama Neo Gendang Records mengumumkan jalinan kolaborasi rasmi yang menggabungkan dua nama besar dalam industri muzik tanah air, iaitu Edrie Hashim dan kumpulan rock wanita legenda, Candy Malaysia. Kerjasama ini berlangsung menerusi kursus APS 5123: Pengurusan Produksi Muzik yang diselia oleh pensyarah Encik Wan Mohamed Syamil bin Wan Shamsul Anuar.

    Program ini dilancarkan bersempena dengan penganjuran Siri Jelajah Universiti bertemakan “PISTOL & BUNGA” yang memilih ASWARA sebagai lokasi dan universiti pertama dalam rangkaian siri jelajah di seluruh Malaysia. Tema tersebut membawa simbolik gabungan tenaga keras dan lantang muzik rock yang dilambangkan dengan perkataan “pistol”, serta kelembutan dan keindahan seni melodi yang digambarkan dengan “bunga mawar”. Edrie Hashim, selaku pengarah muzik, penerbit, penulis lirik dan gitaris kumpulan Wings, mewakili elemen “pistol” dengan pengaruhnya melalui Projek Pistol yang popular dengan lagu “Wanita Seluruh Dunia” serta penglibatannya dalam penerbitan album untuk ramai artis terkenal tanah air. Sementara itu, Candy yang dianggotai oleh Patricia Robert, Nancy Graggory, Anis Kalisa dan Bulan Terry, mewakili elemen “bunga” sebagai kumpulan rock wanita yang telah bertapak sejak 1996 dan dikenali dengan lagu popular “Akan Ku Tunggu”.

    Candy yang masih aktif di pentas hiburan kini kembali mempersembahkan karya terbaru mereka berjudul “Setia2u” pada September 2024, hasil ciptaan Edrie Hashim dan diterbitkan di bawah label Neo Gendang Records. Lagu ini sekaligus memperkenalkan anggota baharu kumpulan itu dan menjadi hadiah istimewa buat peminat setia yang menantikan kemunculan semula Candy. Melalui jelajah ini, Candy bukan sahaja mempromosikan single terkini mereka tetapi juga memberikan peluang kepada generasi muda untuk lebih mengenali kumpulan yang telah memahat nama dalam sejarah muzik Malaysia.

    Menurut Edrie Hashim, kolaborasi bersama Fakulti Muzik dan Fakulti Pengurusan Seni Budaya dan Warisan ASWARA bertujuan memberi peluang kepada pelajar untuk mendapat pengalaman secara langsung dalam industri muzik. Melalui penglibatan dalam penganjuran program, pelajar berpeluang mendalami peranan sebagai pengurus produksi, pengurus pentas, pasukan promosi, pemasaran dan pelbagai aspek pengurusan acara. Selain itu, ia juga menjadi medium Edrie untuk berkongsi ilmu dan pengalaman yang dikumpul sepanjang lebih tiga dekad penglibatannya dalam industri muzik tanah air.

    Bersempena dengan pengumuman ini, sesi ujibakat turut diadakan di Studio Rakaman ASWARA bermula jam 10 pagi hingga 3 petang. Ujibakat ini terbuka kepada semua pelajar ASWARA dan menumpukan kepada pencarian bakat baharu dalam kalangan pemain gitar, bass, drum dan keyboard. Panel juri terdiri daripada Edrie Hashim, Hafiz Shah dan Reza Mohammad. Pelajar yang berjaya akan membentuk sebuah kumpulan muzik dan diberi peluang untuk membuat persembahan bersama Edrie Hashim serta Candy pada 20 September 2025, jam 8.30 malam di Orchestra Hall, ASWARA.

    Jelajah “PISTOL & BUNGA” ini bukan sekadar persembahan pentas tetapi turut menjadi wadah penghargaan terhadap sumbangan legenda rock tanah air, memperkenalkan semula muzik rock kepada generasi muda, serta menyemarakkan kembali minat pelajar terhadap budaya muzik tempatan. Ia juga menjadi platform pendedahan praktikal dalam bidang pengurusan produksi muzik, sekali gus memperkukuh reputasi akademik ASWARA melalui hubungan strategik bersama penggiat seni profesional.

    Selepas ASWARA, siri jelajah ini akan diteruskan di Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam pada Januari 2026, diikuti perancangan bersama beberapa universiti lain termasuk Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) dan Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

    Edrie Hashim dan Candy menzahirkan penghargaan kepada rakan media atas sokongan berterusan terhadap perjalanan seni mereka serta berharap program ini akan menjadi titik permulaan kepada kerjasama lebih luas antara institusi akademik dan industri muzik pada masa akan datang.
