LONDON, 22 JULY 2026 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has introduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, bringing a new generation of AI-powered health experiences designed to help users gain deeper and more actionable insights simply by wearing their smartwatch. Combining continuous health monitoring, enhanced performance and improved comfort, the latest Galaxy Watch lineup is designed to support users throughout the day while making complex biometric data easier to understand and act upon.
According to Samsung, the new smartwatches form part of its broader vision to move healthcare from reactive treatment towards more proactive care. By continuously collecting health data from the wrist, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 can translate everyday vital signs and biometric information into personalised insights, recommendations and timely alerts.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 represents Samsung’s most advanced Galaxy Watch yet, targeting outdoor enthusiasts and users seeking high-performance sports tracking. Designed for demanding environments, it combines rugged durability with specialised features for activities such as trail running and diving. The Trail Run feature tracks elevation, climbing progress and terrain impact, while the new Nutrition Alert provides hydration guidance by estimating sweat loss relative to body weight. It works alongside the existing Sweat Loss feature to help users better manage hydration during training.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is also designed for diving, with IP69K, 10 ATM and EN13319 certification. When users enter the water, the watch can automatically track information such as depth, dive time and water temperature. Advanced diving features, including ascent and descent speed tracking and safe dive limits, are expected to be available later this year through the dedicated Ultra2 Diving app, developed in collaboration with Mares.
Powering these capabilities is an 800mAh battery, representing a 35% increase in capacity compared with the previous Ultra model. The watch is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and features Samsung’s brightest smartwatch display yet, reaching up to 5,000 nits for improved visibility in intense sunlight. Its shock-resistant titanium casing is retained, while internal engineering has reduced the device’s thickness by 12% compared with the previous generation. Lighter and softer bands further contribute to its 24/7 wearability.
For everyday wellness, the Galaxy Watch9 combines continuous health and sleep tracking with a lightweight and comfortable design. Its aluminium casing retains Samsung’s signature cushion silhouette, while interchangeable soft-touch bands are designed to provide a closer and more natural fit for extended wear. The device is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and features a 390mAh battery for around-the-clock health monitoring.
Galaxy Watch9 also features a 3,000-nit display, allowing users to view information clearly across different lighting conditions. With its combination of comfort, battery life and health tracking capabilities, the smartwatch is designed to help users establish healthier routines through continuous activity and sleep monitoring.
At the heart of both models is Samsung’s AI-powered health ecosystem. The Galaxy Watch BioActive sensor continuously collects biometric information, which is then translated into more accessible and actionable health insights. New features include Vitals, which monitors an individual’s health baseline during sleep and provides alerts when significant deviations are detected, and Heart Health Score, which offers an easy-to-understand indication of cardiovascular wellness alongside personalised lifestyle recommendations.
Other new health tools include Daily Cardio Load, which provides guidance on workout volume and estimated recovery needs, and Fitness Index, which offers a broader view of physical fitness with personalised goals. The watches also support hearing health features that can alert users to unsafe noise levels and provide detailed reports.
Samsung is also expanding its selection of purpose-built bands for different activities and lifestyles. Galaxy Watch Ultra2 users can choose from the Marine Band, designed for breathable comfort during outdoor adventures; the PeakForm Band, combining a premium finish with athletic functionality; and the Trail Band, which uses a breathable fabric construction for outdoor activities such as running. For Galaxy Watch9, the new band collection includes the Sports Band, Misty Band and Fabric Band, offering different materials and fits for exercise, everyday use and sleep.
Both smartwatches also come with additional subscription and service benefits. Customers can access a 60-day free trial of Strava, allowing users to track workouts directly from their watch and connect with the wider fitness community. Samsung Care+ is also available to provide protection against accidental damage, extended warranty coverage and expert support, while Galaxy users can manage related services through the Warranty and care menu on Galaxy smartphones running One UI 9.
In Malaysia, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will be offered in a 47mm size, while the Galaxy Watch9 will be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. Galaxy Watch Ultra2 comes in Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver, while the 40mm Galaxy Watch9 is offered in Graphite and Cream, and the 44mm model comes in Graphite and Silver.
