  • Pelancaran PMS Damar Berkat: Peneroka Bangkit Menjana Ekonomi Sendiri

Pelancaran PMS Damar Berkat: Peneroka Bangkit Menjana Ekonomi Sendiri

  • TV AlHijrah Sokong Usahawan Muslim Tempatan Menerusi Bincang Niaga Meriah Raya

TV AlHijrah Sokong Usahawan Muslim Tempatan Menerusi Bincang Niaga Meriah Raya

  • Sunway Medical Centre Velocity Launches Malaysia’s First Immersive Visual Experience & CSR ECG Screening Event for Heart Health

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity Launches Malaysia’s First Immersive Visual Experience & CSR ECG Screening Event for Heart Health

With nearly 30,000 deaths recorded in 2023 due to ischaemic heart disease, heart disease continues to rank as one of Malaysia’s leading causes of mortality. Even more concerning is that Malaysians are experiencing heart attacks as early as age 58 almost eight years younger than the global average.

In response to this rising health crisis, Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) is taking an active step forward with its upcoming CSR event, Pulse of Life: The Ultimate Heart Health Experience. Held from 25 to 27 April 2025 at the Main Atrium, G Floor, Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur, this three-day event is designed to educate the public, promote preventive care, and empower individuals to take charge of their heart health. Visitors of all ages will have access to engaging activities, expert consultations, and complimentary health screenings.

One of the event’s most exciting features is the Immersive Visual Journey Malaysia’s first interactive light installation that transforms a person’s real-time heartbeat into a captivating visual display. Participants can also benefit from a large-scale ECG screening, offered free of charge, to help detect potential heart abnormalities. These screenings will be supported by on-site Consultant Cardiologists and Internal Medicine Physicians from SMCV, ready to provide expert medical feedback and advice based on the results.

According to Dr Tee Chee Hian, SMCV Consultant Cardiologist, the risk of heart disease is no longer limited to older individuals. “More young Malaysians are now being diagnosed with cardiovascular conditions. Early detection, education, and even minor changes in lifestyle can go a long way in preventing serious complications,” he noted.

Adding to that, Susan Cheow, CEO of SMCV, emphasized the dual importance of prevention and education. She shared that the Pulse of Life event is a public initiative aimed at presenting heart health in a way that is accessible, engaging, and easy to understand. Through interactive features and innovative screenings, the goal is to spark awareness and action toward better cardiovascular wellness.

Beyond medical checkups, the event will feature a wide array of partner booths and wellness activities led by some of Malaysia’s top health and fitness brands, including Sunway Multicare Pharmacy and ChiX Fitness, . Attendees can explore the Heart Health Educational Gallery and the Giant Heart Exhibit by Viatris, which offer interactive learning about heart anatomy, risk factors, and the impact of lifestyle choices on cardiovascular health.

Fitness enthusiasts can look forward to free workout sessions and fitness challenges, curated by ChiX Fitness, highlighting how regular exercise contributes to heart health. These guided sessions are designed to make fitness fun while educating participants on its long-term benefits for the heart.

SMCV will also be offering a range of free wellness services, including medication and vaccination counseling by pharmacists, as well as basic health screenings like blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol checks all conducted by trained nursing staff.

Open to the public, the Pulse of Life event invites everyone to take part in a weekend of health education, medical screenings, and interactive wellness experiences. It’s a chance to gain valuable knowledge, take proactive steps toward heart care, and engage in a movement that could save lives.

The Pulse of Life: The Ultimate Heart Health Experience will take place from 25 to 27 April 2025, spanning from Friday to Sunday, with the event running from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Main Atrium on the Ground Floor of Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur. • Penang to Host Asia’s Premier Industrial Mega Event in July 2025

Penang to Host Asia’s Premier Industrial Mega Event in July 2025

A major milestone in Asia’s industrial calendar is on the horizon as Penang prepares to host the most comprehensive manufacturing event of the year. From 23 to 25 July 2025, the Setia SPICE Convention Centre will house the 5th Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX), 4th Penang Manufacturing Expo (PMAX), and two new co-located shows: Semiconductor Expo Asia (SMAX) and Asia Sustainable Factories Expo (ASFAX). Organized by NRG Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd, this quartet of expos brings together the best in electronics, general manufacturing, semiconductors, and sustainable industry. The event is set to draw participants from across the globe.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo and NRG Exhibitions CEO Mr. Kenny Yong. Both leaders emphasized the importance of the event in driving Penang’s future economic vision. The expos are not just industry showcases—they are strategic platforms for global collaboration and innovation. This aligns with Penang’s transformation into a regional tech and sustainability leader.

Each expo within the event serves a specific yet complementary purpose. EMAX continues its legacy as a premier platform for electronics manufacturing. PMAX offers broad insights into industrial solutions and factory innovations. The newcomers, SMAX and ASFAX, bring high relevance: one focuses on the booming semiconductor sector and the other on green factory solutions and ESG.

The goal of SMAX is to cover the full semiconductor pipeline—from design to materials. With chip shortages and geopolitical shifts highlighting the need for regional capacity, SMAX’s presence is timely. ASFAX, on the other hand, will address climate-focused manufacturing strategies. Attendees can expect to see renewable energy technologies, energy management systems, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

In total, the event is expected to attract over 8,000 trade professionals and more than 200 brands. Exhibitors will hail from at least 40 countries, creating a truly international environment. Live demos, AI-driven tech applications, and next-gen manufacturing tools will be on full display. The event promises not just education, but real-world solutions for industry challenges.

Networking is a key part of the experience. Visitors will benefit from industry matchmaking, business meet-ups, and investor introductions. Keynote sessions and expert panels will offer deep dives into industrial strategy, tech trends, and sustainability practices. This makes the event as intellectually rich as it is visually impressive.

Mr. Kenny Yong described the expansion of the EMAX series as a reflection of where the industry is headed. “We’re not just growing in size, we’re growing in relevance,” he said. He emphasized the importance of balancing innovation with responsibility. This sentiment is echoed in the structure of the 2025 expo—tech and sustainability standing side-by-side.

With the full support of Penang’s government and strong international interest, this four-in-one event is expected to become a cornerstone of industrial development in the region. Whether you’re in semiconductors, green manufacturing, or electronics, the 2025 expo is where tomorrow’s industry will take shape. It is a call to action for professionals ready to embrace the future. And that future is coming to Penang.

  • Empowering the Future: How Huawei Malaysia is Building a Digitally Inclusive Workforce

Empowering the Future: How Huawei Malaysia is Building a Digitally Inclusive Workforce

Malaysia’s digital aspirations are deeply rooted in its ability to nurture a tech-savvy generation capable of driving innovation and growth. As the country positions itself as ASEAN’s digital capital, it recognises that real transformation must begin with education. The classroom is where future developers, engineers, and innovators are born—and Huawei Malaysia is playing a critical role in ensuring that these young minds are equipped for what lies ahead.

Through its nationwide Huawei ICT Academy programme, Huawei partners with both public and private institutions of higher learning to offer advanced technical training in key digital domains such as 5G, 5.5G, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity. These aren’t just abstract concepts presented in textbooks; students are immersed in practical, hands-on labs and real-world scenarios, giving them firsthand experience with the same technologies that are shaping industries globally. To date, Huawei has established 45 ICT Academies in Malaysia, and these hubs of learning have already trained over 54,000 students—exceeding the company’s original five-year target set in 2021.

What makes this initiative especially impactful is its alignment with industry needs. Huawei’s close collaboration with academia ensures that curriculum development is guided by real-world demands, meaning students graduate with skills that are immediately applicable and valuable in the job market. Certifications earned through the programme carry weight, increasing employability and building a pipeline of talent for Malaysia’s growing digital economy.

This synergy between industry and education isn’t just a corporate initiative it’s a national strategy. As Malaysia transitions into a knowledge-based economy, the alignment between academia and technological innovation will be vital. Huawei’s ICT Academy model represents a blueprint for how public-private partnerships can foster meaningful change, producing not only graduates but digital professionals ready to lead Malaysia into the future.

The launch of these transformative initiatives will help position us as the legacy capital of business events in Malaysia and Borneo.”

Sarawak’s pivot to legacy-driven business events began in 2019, with strong backing from the Sarawak Government. In 2025, that vision is gaining global traction.

“This year, we’re focused on uniting people through impactful business events,” said Amelia Roziman, CEO of Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak). “Each initiative is a step forward in proving that true legacy happens when we move together.
