Through strategic partnerships, community-driven events, and innovative technology solutions, the company is helping individuals take meaningful steps towards achieving their fitness and wellbeing goals.
Serba Wangi Sdn Bhd, one of Malaysia’s leading agricultural producers, has announced a major corporate diversification strategy with the launch of ‘Jati Chom Chom’, marking the flagship brand’s official entry into the premium ready-to-eat snack segment. The launch represents the country’s first commercially produced white rice puff snack made entirely from locally sourced grains, signaling a decisive shift toward high-value, downstream food production.

By steering its core ingredient into the high-margin FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) market, the veteran rice distributor aims to unlock modern commercial channels and tap into evolving consumer behavior. The strategic pivot targets children, teenagers, young working adults, and modern families who are actively demanding convenient, premium alternatives to conventional corn, potato, and wheat-based snacks.
The capital-intensive launch was officially unveiled at Old Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, an event marked by a high-tech drone light show over the capital’s skyline. The event was officiated by the Raja Puan Muda of Kedah, DYTM Che Puan Muda Zaheeda Binti Mohamad Ariff, alongside the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Isham Ishak.

Datuk Seri Isham Ishak underscored the broader corporate and economic implications of the product launch, stating that the future of Malaysia’s agricultural sector no longer centers solely on raw, primary production. Instead, he highlighted that sustainable growth within the nation’s agri-food sector relies heavily on cross-category innovation, modern branding, value creation, and aggressive market expansion, describing Jati Chom Chom as a landmark achievement for local commercialization.
Supporting this vision, Serba Wangi’s Managing Director, Low Kok Kean, emphasized that Jati Chom Chom represents a major milestone in evaluating new, scalable possibilities for local white rice beyond traditional, raw volume consumption. He noted that by scaling innovation up the food value chain, the company is bridging the gap between national agricultural output and a new generation of consumers. To secure strong retail confidence, the new product line is backed by rigorous operational standards, manufactured in a facility holding Halal, HACCP, and international ISO 22000:2018 food safety management certifications.
Jati Chom Chom makes its market debut in two distinct flavor profiles, Tomato and Cheese, positioned to optimize mass-market accessibility while ensuring healthy retail margins. The products are priced starting at RM1.99 for a 60g single unit and RM3.79 for a 112g multipack, though final retail pricing remains subject to regional channel promotions. In its initial rollout phase, nationwide distribution has secured immediate shelf space across premium modern trade accounts including Lotus’s, Giant, and AEON outlets, with plans underway to aggressively scale penetration into general trade and independent retail networks.

PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn.
Participants of Azul’s photowalk gathered at Stadium Merdeka with Merdeka 118 tower in the background, as part of the “Under the Shadows of Merdeka” photography initiative exploring the stories and heritage of the surrounding precinct.
Bertajuk “Kisah Kaki Lima: Kehidupan di Pusat Bandar Kuala Lumpur”, mural komuniti ini akan dihasilkan oleh Dipapansembilan Studio, penerima Program Geran Komuniti Merdeka 118 Pusingan 3, dengan sokongan rakan komuniti Think City Sdn. Bhd.

Sempena Festival KL, kisah ibu kota diteruskan di Menara Merdeka 118 menerusi pameran fotografi “Under the Shadows of Merdeka” oleh penerima Program Geran Komuniti Merdeka 118 Pusingan 2, Azul Adnan, bersama rakan kongsinya Grace Ho.

Petaling Jaya, 25 May 2026 – Malaysians have never needed much encouragement to get active. From packed badminton courts on weekday nights to weekend futsal sessions and casual football matches, sport is deeply embedded in everyday life. Now, a wave of newer activities is expanding that culture even further. Pickleball courts are emerging across urban areas, padel has gained traction among working professionals, and high-intensity formats like HYROX are attracting participants eager to test their endurance and strength. On the surface, this growing enthusiasm paints a positive picture of a more active nation.
However, beneath this encouraging trend, healthcare professionals are noticing a quieter and more concerning development. Clinics are seeing an increase in soft tissue and ligament injuries, particularly among recreational players and returning athletes who have resumed sports without adequate preparation. Many of these injuries are not caused by sudden accidents, but by repeated strain and ignored discomfort that gradually worsens over time. What begins as mild soreness can evolve into conditions requiring long recovery periods—or in some cases, surgery.
The popularity of newer sports is often driven by the perception that they are beginner-friendly. Yet, sports like pickleball and padel involve frequent lateral movement, sudden direction changes, and repetitive joint stress on the shoulders, knees, and elbows. Similarly, HYROX combines endurance and strength in a way that places significant load on muscles, tendons, and connective tissues. These demands often catch new participants off guard, especially those who increase intensity too quickly without proper conditioning or recovery habits.
Soft tissue injuries are particularly challenging because they rarely present with obvious or immediate warning signs. Unlike fractures, they often begin as dull aches or mild discomfort that players tend to dismiss. This leads many individuals to “walk it off” or adjust their movements without addressing the underlying issue. Over time, this compensation can shift stress to other parts of the body, turning a small injury into a chain reaction that affects multiple joints and muscle groups.
Medical specialists emphasise that the difference between normal post-exercise soreness and injury is important. General muscle soreness usually appears a day or two after activity and improves with movement, while injuries tend to be sharp, localised, and worsen with use. Ignoring these signals can delay treatment and significantly complicate recovery.
Doctors also note that the profile of injured patients is shifting. Younger individuals commonly present with tendonitis, ligament tears, and muscle strains, while older patients are more likely to experience joint-related issues such as osteoarthritis flare-ups, nerve compression, or falls leading to fractures. Across all age groups, a common factor is the rapid increase in activity intensity without adequate adaptation time for the body.
One of the most critical challenges in sports medicine is delayed treatment. Many individuals only seek medical attention when pain becomes unmanageable or mobility is significantly affected. By that stage, injuries are often more complex and require longer recovery periods. Early assessment, on the other hand, can prevent minor injuries from escalating and reduce the likelihood of surgical intervention.
Treatment approaches vary depending on severity, ranging from rest and rehabilitation to surgical repair for more serious ligament damage. However, specialists consistently stress that recovery is not just about treatment—it is also about prevention. Returning to sport too quickly or ignoring proper conditioning often leads to recurring injuries.
As participation in sports continues to grow, the focus is shifting from simply playing harder to playing smarter. Warm-ups, strength training, adequate rest, and proper technique are essential in reducing injury risk. Listening to the body and responding to early warning signs can make the difference between staying active for years or being sidelined for months.
The goal is not to discourage sport, but to ensure sustainability. A physically active lifestyle should be one that can be maintained long-term, without repeated setbacks from preventable injuries.
Malaysia’s growing sports culture is a positive development, but it comes with a responsibility to prioritise safety and awareness. Pain should not be normalised as part of performance. By understanding injury risks and adopting better habits, athletes and casual players alike can continue enjoying the sports they love—without compromising their long-term health.
What initially appeared to be an accidental on-air incident during Era FM’s live broadcast has been revealed as part of a strategic campaign by Domino’s Pizza Malaysia to introduce its latest brand proposition, “Unbox Your Cravings.”
The incident took place during the Petang Era segment when DJ Haziq expressed his craving for pizza while on air alongside co-hosts Muna and Der. Shortly after freshly delivered pizzas arrived at the studio, Haziq temporarily stepped out, while Muna and Der continued their conversation unaware that the microphones were still live. The unexpected moment quickly captured public attention and gained widespread traction across social media platforms.
Era FM later addressed the situation, explaining that listeners had unintentionally overheard an off-air conversation between the presenters. The station described the moment as a natural and authentic interaction that resonated with audiences. The incident subsequently became part of Domino’s Malaysia’s broader effort to introduce its refreshed brand identity centred around the concept that cravings can occur at any time.
The new visual identity, anchored in “Unbox Your Cravings”
The “Unbox Your Cravings” campaign is built on the idea that cravings are spontaneous and often arise during everyday moments, including work, study, gaming, or even live radio broadcasts. Through this campaign, Domino’s aims to encourage consumers to embrace those cravings and enjoy moments of indulgence without hesitation.
According to Ringo Joannes, CEO of Domino’s Pizza Malaysia, Singapore & Cambodia, cravings represent genuine and immediate emotional impulses that are difficult to ignore. He stated that the campaign reflects the importance of recognising and responding to those meaningful moments of self-reward.
“Every craving is a calling. And cravings don’t wait”
In conjunction with the brand refresh, Domino’s Malaysia also introduced its latest product innovation, the Thick Crunch Pizza, inspired by Detroit-style pizzas. Presented in a rectangular shape that fully occupies the pizza box, the new offering combines a thick, airy and fluffy texture with a distinctive crunchy bite. The caramelised red cheddar crust further enhances the overall flavour and texture experience.
Cheesy PepperoniAloha SalsaMac & Cheese
The Thick Crunch Pizza is available in three flavours namely Aloha Salsa, Mac & Cheese, and Cheesy Pepperoni, each featuring a combination of rich ingredients and bold flavours designed to satisfy a variety of cravings.
The new Thick Crunch Pizza is now available nationwide at Domino’s outlets for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery through the official Domino’s website and mobile application. For more updates, visit www.dominos.com.my or follow @dominosmy on Facebook and Instagram.
In a move set to reshape Malaysia’s tourism experience, Malaysian brand ZERO Healthcare has launched the Visit Malaysia 2026 concept of ZERO Power Station, reimagining how travellers rest and recharge through accessible wellness touchpoints across the country.
First introduced in 2022, ZERO Power Station has grown steadily to more than 800 locations nationwide, offering over 2,000 shared massage chairs. In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, ZERO Healthcare is now targeting an expansion to 5,000 wellness touchpoints by the end of 2026.
The launch was officiated by Mr. Samuel Lee Thai Hung, Deputy Director General of Tourism Malaysia, marking ZERO Healthcare as a strategic partner supporting the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.
Mr. Samuel Lee said that during Visit Malaysia 2026, the focus is not only on attracting visitors, but also on improving the overall travel experience. He noted that initiatives like ZERO Power Station bring practical innovation by improving comfort and convenience for travellers, while also strengthening Malaysia’s position as a modern and visitor-friendly destination.
As Malaysia moves closer to VM2026, the focus is shifting beyond attracting tourists to enhancing the quality of their journey. ZERO Power Station offers an app-based shared massage chair experience designed to solve a common travel issue, where long hours of walking, waiting and commuting often leave travellers needing quick and convenient rest options. It provides accessible wellness points in high-traffic areas such as shopping malls, transport hubs and tourist attractions.
According to Tommy Tham, Founder and Managing Director of ZERO Healthcare, today’s travellers are not just looking for destinations, but for better experiences along the way. He said ZERO Power Station is a simple but meaningful solution that brings wellness into everyday travel moments. He also added that as a Malaysian brand, ZERO Healthcare is proud to support Visit Malaysia 2026 by improving how people experience the country on the ground.
The official mascots of Visit Malaysia 2026, Wira and Manja, together with ZERO Healthcare’s mascot Captain Roro Paws, will also be featured at ZERO Power Station locations, creating fun and engaging touchpoints that highlight Malaysia as a progressive and wellness-focused tourism destination.
Under the theme “Recharge Along Your Journey”, ZERO Power Station integrates wellness into everyday travel experiences in a seamless way.
Users can simply download the ZERO app, receive complimentary first-time credits, and enjoy instant access to massage chair services within minutes. Four different Power Station concepts were introduced to show how the system can adapt across various environments.
These concepts highlight the flexibility and scalability of the platform, making it suitable for deployment across Malaysia’s diverse tourism landscape.
With plans to expand further across Malaysia and the region, ZERO Healthcare aims to build a nationwide wellness network that supports a “zero-stress, zero-illness” lifestyle, while contributing to Malaysia’s ambition of becoming a leading global tourism destination.
For generations, traditional Asian wellness philosophies have advocated a harmonious relationship with nature, encapsulated in the foundational advice to consume hearty meals during daylight hours and maintain a light dietary footprint in the evening. Today, contemporary scientific inquiry is validating this ancestral intuition. Emerging research in chrononutrition demonstrates that metabolic efficiency is inextricably linked to the body’s internal biological clock, revealing that the gastrointestinal system operates on a highly sophisticated, time-dependent schedule.
According to Herbalife’s Dr. Vipada Sae-Lao, our bodies are governed by a 24-hour circadian rhythm that operates at a cellular level, keeping organ systems in sync with day and night. The digestive tract is exceptionally clock-sensitive. Trillions of gut microbes maintain a constant dialogue with this internal clock to collectively regulate metabolic rate, insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular health, and immunity.
However, the structural demands of modern urban life—characterized by irregular shift work, late-night digital screen exposure, and erratic meal schedules, have systematically disrupted this biological equilibrium. When these behavioral patterns desynchronize the internal clock, gastrointestinal functionality declines, significantly elevating long-term risks for systemic inflammation, blood sugar volatility, and metabolic syndrome. The public health implications of this trend are substantial; recent data from the Ministry of Health indicates that diseases of the digestive system have risen to become among the top ten leading causes of hospitalization nationwide.
For World Digestive Health Day, experts urge a return to structured, clock-based eating. Post-fast, the morning gut is highly efficient, primed with active enzymes, and in a receptive metabolic state. Starting the day with a balanced, nutrient-dense breakfast significantly optimizes metabolic function. Clinicians increasingly recommend confining daily eating to a consistent 8-to-12-hour daytime window to allow the digestive tract crucial overnight recovery time.
Beyond caloric intake, the chronological management of hydration and stress is equally vital to metabolic resilience. In tropical, high-humidity environments like Malaysia, where non-renal fluid loss is pronounced, structured hydration remains essential. Consuming six to seven glasses of plain water daily supports systemic waste transit and nutrient absorption, provided intake is tapered in the evening to allow for physiological rest.
Conversely, nocturnal eating and elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol act as severe disruptors, altering gut motility and compromising microbiome diversity. Ultimately, the convergence of traditional insights and modern clinical science underscores that sustainable health is achieved not through forced behavioral paradigms, but through the deliberate alignment of daily habits with the body’s natural 24-hour rhythm.
Healthcare provider i-Sihat Group has officially announced a comprehensive rebranding exercise, emerging as Mediwira Group. The strategic transformation comes alongside a rapid corporate expansion plan, with the group setting its sights on establishing at least 25 outlets by the end of this year, marking a nearly 50% increase from 2025 numbers—and a long-term target of 100 outlets nationwide by 2030.
The announcement was made during the group’s official brand unveiling event in Johor, which also marked the launch of a new medical clinic in the state, with a dedicated medispa outlet scheduled to open next month. The new additions bring Mediwira Group’s current portfolio to 21 operational outlets across Malaysia, comprising 12 dental clinics, 7 medical clinics, and 2 medispa outlets, with a primary footprint in the Klang Valley, Johor, and Sabah.
This aggressive growth strategy is positioned to capitalize on Malaysia’s expanding healthcare market. Driven by an aging demographic, a rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and a booming medical tourism sector, the national medical sector is projected to reach a valuation of USD 30 billion by 2027.
The officiating guest of honor, YB Tuan Hassan Abdul Karim, Member of Parliament for Pasir Gudang, emphasized the critical role of private primary care in the current ecosystem. “With the current state of the nation’s healthcare landscape, the private clinic space has become increasingly vital. It bridges the gap between the public healthcare system and the upper tiers of healthcare specialists. It is here that I believe Mediwira will contribute significantly,” he noted, praising the group’s inclusive approach to healthcare delivery.
First established in 2012 by founding partners Dr. Nandagobala, Dr. Ratna, Dr. Mok Chi Chien, and Dr. Lavan, the group has evolved from its roots as i-Sihat into a diversified, one-stop clinical solution provider. Over its 14 years of operations, the provider has treated more than half a million patients across its specialized divisions. Mediwira Medical covers general practice, pediatrics, women’s health, and chronic disease management, and is set to integrate clinical psychology services. Mediwira Dental focuses on family, orthodontic, and implant dentistry, while Mediwira Medispa offers doctor-supervised, medical-grade aesthetic and body contouring treatments at accessible price points.
Commenting on the corporate milestone, Dr. Nanda, partner at Mediwira Group, stated, “We chose the name Mediwira to embrace our roles as healthcare heroes, symbolizing our commitment to quality care and service. In our 14 years of operation, we have welcomed over half a million patients. That isn’t just a business number, it is half a million times a patient has trusted us. When you walk into any Mediwira clinic, you’re walking into a family that’s been quietly caring for Malaysians for over a decade.”
