BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced the enhanced 2026 BYD SEALION 7, expanding its flagship electric SUV line-up with the all-new Dynamic variant alongside upgraded Premium and Performance models. The latest range is designed to offer greater accessibility, improved driving range, faster charging capabilities, and an enhanced ownership experience for Malaysian motorists.
The launch reflects BYD’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia. The introduction of the Dynamic variant provides a more affordable entry point into the SEALION 7 family, while the Premium and Performance variants receive larger battery capacities and faster DC charging capabilities. These enhancements allow drivers to travel further on a single charge while spending less time at charging stations.
Since making its Malaysian debut in 2024, the BYD SEALION 7 has become the country’s best-selling D-Segment Electric SUV in 2025, with more than 6,300 units delivered nationwide. Building on the original tagline, “Pinnacle of Performance, Redefined for Tomorrow,” the 2026 model now adopts the slogan “Pinnacle of Performance, Redefined FURTHER for Tomorrow,” highlighting significant improvements in driving range, convenience, accessibility, and customer confidence through BYD’s expanding nationwide service network.
According to Jacob Ma, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, the updated line-up gives customers greater flexibility to choose an electric SUV that suits their lifestyle while delivering better value. He noted that the new Dynamic variant, together with the enhanced Premium and Performance models, further strengthens the SEALION 7’s position as a flagship electric SUV by combining performance, technology, practicality, and distinctive design.
Meanwhile, Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, emphasised that customer ownership experience remains a key priority. She highlighted the company’s growing nationwide presence, which now includes 44 sales and marketing outlets, 28 aftersales facilities, and 12 body and paint centres. The recent introduction of the BYD Certified Pre-Owned Programme, including the first BYD Certified showroom in the Asia-Pacific region, further demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing customers with greater peace of mind throughout their ownership journey.
The new Dynamic variant features rear-wheel drive with 170 kW of power, 380 Nm of torque, a driving range of up to 520 km (NEDC), and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.3 seconds. The enhanced Premium variant now comes equipped with a larger 91.39 kWh Blade Battery, increasing its driving range to 650 km (NEDC), while DC fast charging has been upgraded to 230 kW. For performance enthusiasts, the all-wheel-drive Performance variant delivers 390 kW of power, 690 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, and offers up to 600 km of driving range, complemented by distinctive red brake calipers and 20-inch wheels.
To celebrate the launch, BYD Sime Motors is offering attractive ownership incentives across all variants, including complimentary wallbox chargers, overtrade bonuses, and special introductory pricing for the first 300 Dynamic customers.
