  • MyCEB SHOWCASES MALAYSIA TO THE WORLD AT THE MEETINGS SHOW 2023

    The Meetings Show 2023, which was recently hosted at ExCEL London, United Kingdom, was the first event in which Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) collaborated with important industry players.

    Commenting on the participation, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, Mr. Zain Azrai Rashid said that Team Malaysia is appreciative of the overwhelming response, a reflection of a successful show. “Over the two-day event, the Malaysian delegation achieved impressive results through a promising figure of RM570 million in estimated economic impact into the country from the meeting appointments at the stand. This cumulative figure is accomplishable based on business opportunities from five exhibitors which is part of Team Malaysia including MyCEB, Business Events Sarawak, Borneo Convention & Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center and Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.”

    Through Malaysia’s participation, the bureau believes that quality leads gained from The Meetings Show 2023 has set the momentum for a vibrant business events scene in the near future for Malaysia. It is with full confidence that the country will soon open the floodgates of delegates from various industries which will mutually benefit the clients, the business events’ value chain as well as the destination.

    In the pipeline, the country will be focusing on welcoming incentive travellers again post pandemic. As of today, MyCEB has 23 confirmed incentive travel under its belt, that will generate an estimated economic impact of RM124.9 million. Since MyCEB’s inception in 2011 up to 2019, the national bureau has welcomed around 411,150 participants under incentive travel, generated around RM6.2 billion in estimated economic impact to the country’s economy.

    As Malaysia prepares an imminent succession in the business events industry, the national bureau alongside the state bureaus and industry stakeholders will continue to work hand in hand and accord relationships with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry and its governmental agencies.

    Malaysia is ever ready to explore the European market and expand its presence amongst business delegates. According to Mr. Zain, the continent is attractive to Malaysia as it makes 50% market share of the global business events market and is expected to be steadfast at this position until 2030. The continent is also the largest market for international association conference participants and continues to experience market growth.

    “An interesting observation is that business events is not bound to the regular tourism seasons in Europe, making business events more welcomed during low tourism season. With this, Malaysia will be able to take the opportunity all-year round to showcase our destination and industry’s strength in delivering a memorable experience, as seamlessly possible,” he continued.

  • FRANCHISE EXPO MIRF 2023 UNVEILED BY MRCA WITH A VISION OF RM120 MILLION IN LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT

    The Minister of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN), YB Datuk Seri Salahuddin Bin Ayub, attended today’s Franchise Expo Malaysia International Retail and Franchise 2023 (FE MIRF 2023) grand opening and witnessed the event’s goal of attracting RM120 million in investments for local retailers and franchisors through the newly rebranded exhibition.

    Formerly known as the Malaysia International Retail and Franchise (MIRF) exhibition, the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) has officially rebranded its prestigious show to FE MIRF 2023 for its sixth edition. This year marks a significant milestone for MRCA as they embark on strategic initiatives to elevate the retail and franchise industry in Malaysia, attracting investors from around the world.

    Featuring near to 400 booths and over 200 exhibitors, the exhibition anticipates the attendance of over 15,000 visitors, including prospective investors, business owners, and customers – resulting in a boost in business activities, exhibitor transactions, and sales. With significant growth in the participation of foreign investors and retailers from Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, USA, UK, Vietnam, India and Australia – FE MIRF 2023 brought well-established and in-demand brands to provide a platform for local franchisees and investors to make calculated decisions based on side-by-side comparisons on international franchises, ultimately resulting in the introduction of these brands to the Malaysian market.

The signing of this MOU marks an important step towards achieving MRCA’s ambitious goal of securing RM120 million in investments. The MOU signing represents a strong commitment from both MRCA and TAZTE by ZCITY to foster innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability within the F&B industry. Together, they aim to create a dynamic and vibrant ecosystem that benefits not only businesses but also consumers and the overall economy.

    YB Datuk Seri Salahuddin bin Ayub, Minister of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN), in his speech mentioned, “Malaysia is increasingly becoming the first port of call for international organizations wanting to engage in businesses across Southeast Asia. In line with the KPDN vision of achieving progressive and sustainable domestic trade, the emphasis will be focusing on the efficient and effective administration in the distributive trade sectors as an integral part of the services sector in Malaysia. The distributive trade sectors including retails, direct selling, chain stores, franchising and e-commerce had also contributed to changes of the distributive trade by providing a more diverse distribution channel for goods and services produced in the country.

We have an abundance of resources and know-how which once put to its maximum output can spearhead and increase exports.     Additionally, FE MIRF 2023 facilitated business matching services to propel investment prospects further.   • Program Pemeriksaan Kesihatan Secara Percuma di Persatuan Kebajikan Ahsana Kuala Lumpur

    Pemeriksaan Kesihatan Percuma telah dijalankan pada 8 Julai 2023 di Persatuan Kebajikan Ahsana Kuala Lumpur beralamat: 2, Jalan 4/153A, Off Jalan Puchong, Taman Puchong Indah, Kuala Lumpur.

    Ahsana dengan kerjasama Viimen TV buat julung-julung kalinya mengadakan aktiviti sihat bersama dengan komuniti menerusi program Pemeriksaan Kesihatan Percuma pada sabtu lepas. Selain daripada pemeriksaan kesihatan percuma, terdapat juga booth yang membuat jualan amal untuk membantu Insan Istimewa dan komuniti juga berpeluang untuk menyantuni mereka.

    Tujuan program ini diadakan bagi memberi peluang dan kesedaran kepada komuniti terutama golongan belia akan kepentingan kesihatan diri. Malah, ini adalah titik permulaan kepada komuniti untuk lebih mendekati dan membantu golongan Insan Istimewa yang memerlukan.

    Persatuan Kebajikan Ahsana Kuala Lumpur (PKAKL) adalah sebuah Badan Bukan Kerajaan (NGO) berdaftar di bawah Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia. Ahsana KL ialah NGO yang memfokuskan rumah kebajikan dan aktiviti/program khusus untuk INSAN ISTIMEWA.

    Ahsana KL memfokuskan untuk membantu insan istimewa yang dihantar oleh Pihak JKM, Gelandangan yang tiada waris atau kehilangan ibu bapa atau mereka yang terlahir dari fakir miskin. Sumbangan yang diterima 100% daripada Pihak Komuniti malah terdapat beberapa platform yang digunakan.

    Memperkasa Wanita Muda Malaysia

    Mengenai isu sosial, Kao juga telah lama diiktiraf atas usahanya dalam memperjuangkan kepelbagaian, ekuiti dan keterangkuman terutamanya peranan Wanita bukan sahaja dalam syarikat, anak syarikat dan sekutunya tetapi juga wanita di mana-mana sahaja.

    Usaha Kao dalam memperkasa dan menyokong wanita juga telah lama bertapak dalam usaha komunitinya di Malaysia. Sebagai contoh, Kao menerajui bengkel Yakinlah Menjadi Remaja sejak 1994 untuk menyokong dan mendidik gadis muda mengenai kepentingan penjagaan haid.

    Baru-baru ini, program tersebut telah diperluaskan dengan Kerjasama Perbadanan Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) sebagai rakan penyampai utama selaras dengan komitmen Kao juga untuk memperjuangkan keyakinan sebagai factor utama pembangunan dan kejayaan seorang wanita. Kempen yang dimaksudkan adalah ‘Laurier School of Confidence’, inisiatif ini bertujuan bukan sahaja menyemai keyakinan di kalangan wanita muda tetapi juga memberi ganjaran kepada pelajar yang berkelayakan dengan RM 1,500 dalam bentuk akaun Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (Simpan SSPN).

    Menyambut 50 Tahun Menjaga Rakyat Malaysia

    Di Ketika Kao Malaysia merikan ulang tahun ke-50, ia telah merancang pelbagai aktiviti menarik yang direka khusus untuk mendekatkan pelan ‘Kirei Lifestyle’ nya kepada pengguna.

    Selain kempen tersebut, Kao Malaysia juga akan bekerjasama dengan beberapa NGO termasuk Biji-Biji Initiative dan Impactlution, selaras dengan komitmennya untuk mencapai Kirei Lifestyle.     Kao juga komited meneruskan Kerjasama dengan Impaclution untuk mengurangkan impak produk keluarannya di sepanjang keseluruhan kitaran hajat menerusi proses yang dikenali sebagai Penilaian Kitaran Hayat (LCA). Proses ini mengukur secara objektif impak sesuatu produk terhadap alam sekitar, daripada pilihan bahan buahan sehingga kepada pelupusan sisa.

    Inisiatif Payung RAHMAH bersama Jaya Grocer dan Grab Malaysia merupakan sebahagian daripada kerjasama antara KPDN dan kedua-dua syarikat tersebut. Untuk makluman, pelaksanaan inisiatif ini bertujuan untuk membantu mengurangkan beban rakyat Malaysia berikutan peningkatan kos sara hidup
