    Huawei Malaysia and UTM Launch Annual Education Sponsorship Programme to Empower Future Leaders

    Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have recently entered into a partnership to establish a sponsorship programme. This initiative aims to provide financial support to deserving and eligible Malaysian students who are pursuing higher education at the university.

    As part of the agreement, Huawei Malaysia will generously sponsor six students, offering them financial assistance to cover their tuition fees for the year. This will be applicable to the fees of the first semester in cases where the sponsored student has already moved on to the second semester.

    This program is available to Malaysian citizens who are currently in their second to fourth year of studies at UTM. To be eligible, students must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.20.

    Having the Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA), Huawei Certified ICT Professional (HCIP), or Huawei Certified ICT Expert (HCIE) certification will give students an edge when being considered for the sponsorship programme. Individuals who are chosen for the Huawei Seeds for the Future programme, Huawei Sales Elite Challenge, and other Huawei training programmes will receive preferential treatment during the selection process.

    After graduating, sponsored students will have the opportunity to start a fulfilling career with Huawei, where they will be expected to serve for at least two years.

    Prof. Ts. Dr. Ali Bin Selamat, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) of UTM, expressed his support for the programme, emphasising the importance of collaboration between leaders in the technology sector and academic institutions. He highlighted the need to produce highly qualified workers who play a crucial role in the country’s success. UTM and Huawei have a strong and enduring partnership focused on delivering advanced education and hands-on experience to UTM students and graduates, ultimately shaping their future. This collaboration fosters creativity and economic progress while also enhancing graduates’ understanding.

    Huawei Malaysia Vice President of Human Resources Mr Choh Yau Meng emphasised the critical importance of collaboration between academic institutions and industry in preparing the future workforce, stating, “By leveling the playing field in terms of opportunity to higher education, we are unearthing talent and addressing skill mismatches. Through proactive engagements and a shared commitment to excellence, academia and industry can work in tandem towards collectively supporting successful educational outcomes that will in turn, be a key to the nation’s digital transformation goals.”

    In addition to the sponsorship programme, Huawei Malaysia has been actively involved in various talent development initiatives, including the establishment of Huawei ICT Academies in various public and private universities nationwide to assist in the cultivation of high calibre ICT professionals. 

    Since 2021, Huawei Malaysia has produced 54,000 talents through the Huawei ASEAN Academy and has exceeded its target of producing 50,000 digital talents in Malaysia by 2025.

    Single Terbaharu Spider ‘Keluar Sarang’ Menghidupkan Semula Rock Malaysia

    Spider, kumpulan rock ikonik Malaysia yang terus kekal dalam hati peminat sejak pelancaran album pertama mereka, Ngam Ho pada tahun 1999, kini kembali dengan single terbaru mereka berjudul “Keluar Sarang”. Lagu ini mengikuti jejak kejayaan hits seperti “Relaku Pujuk” dan “Aladin”, mempersembahkan inovasi muzik yang segar dalam era muzik moden.

    “Keluar Sarang”, yang dicipta oleh Tam dan ditulis liriknya oleh Keon, merupakan usaha terbaru Spider setelah pelancaran album keenam mereka, Ankabut, pada tahun 2016. Dalam single ini, Spider telah menerapkan elemen bunyi elektronik, memperbaharui muzik mereka dengan gaya yang relevan di zaman kini. Kumpulan ini juga mengambil peranan sebagai produser dan penyusun untuk lagu tersebut, menunjukkan kemahiran mereka dalam menghasilkan muzik yang berkualiti.

    Spider, yang dianggotai oleh Tam (vokalis/gitar), Aie (dram), Pown (gitar), dan Is (bass), turut mendapat sumbangan Nafie, gitaris mereka yang sedang direhatkan akibat masalah kesihatan.     Beliau menambah, inisiatif tersebut bukan sahaja dapat meringankan beban kerajaan, malah menggalakkan semua cawangan untuk bergiat aktif serta bekerjasama dengan badan-badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) lain. Dengan cara ini, lebih banyak bantuan dapat diberikan berdasarkan keperluan komuniti setempat.

    Pertubuhan Kebajikan Masyarakat Sinar Harapan Batu Pahat kini mempunyai cawangan di pelbagai lokasi termasuk Teluk Intan (Perak), Melaka, Muar (Johor), Nilai (Negeri Sembilan), Pulau Pinang, Kelantan, dan Kuantan. Cawangan lain turut beroperasi di Miri dan Kuching (Sarawak), Ipoh (Perak), Klang (Selangor), dan Johor Bharu. Tidak ketinggalan, cawangan di luar negara seperti di Thailand dan Cambodia juga aktif membantu rakyat yang memerlukan.

    Dengan pengumpulan dana yang melibatkan semua cawangan, pertubuhan ini mampu menganjurkan pelbagai aktiviti sosial, termasuk membantu kanak-kanak yang menghadapi penyakit jantung, jantung berlubang, dan kanser untuk mendapatkan rawatan di hospital. Program khidmat sosial masyarakat (CSR) yang telah dilaksanakan adalah bukti komitmen pertubuhan ini dalam memberikan bantuan kepada golongan yang memerlukan.

    “CSR yang diadakan ini bukan hanya sekadar membantu masyarakat, malah mempunyai misi untuk menghulurkan lebih banyak bantuan kepada komuniti. Pada masa sama, ia juga dapat menyemai dan mewujudkan sikap kasih sayang sekali gus menarik minat masyarakat prihatin untuk turut sama membantu,” kata Klaus Lim.

    Dengan misi dan visi yang jelas, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Masyarakat Sinar Harapan Batu Pahat berusaha untuk memperluaskan lagi jaringan bantuan dan memastikan lebih ramai rakyat mendapat manfaat daripada program-program kebajikan yang dijalankan.

    Filem ‘A Legend’ Bawa Jackie Chan Kembali dengan Aksi Memukau

    Jackie Chan, bintang legenda dari Hong Kong yang terkenal dengan aksi dan seni bela diri yang memukau, membuktikan dirinya masih kekal relevan pada usia 70 tahun dengan menggegarkan industri filem menerusi naskhah terbaharu berjudul A Legend.

    Sekuel kepada filem The Myth yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2005, A Legend bakal memasuki pawagam tempatan tidak lama lagi. Filem ini menampilkan aksi seni bela diri yang lebih mencabar dan menarik, yang hanya mampu dilakukan oleh Jackie Chan.

    Selain itu, unsur pengembaraan dan fantasi yang diselitkan dalam filem ini menjadikan A Legend berpotensi menjadi salah satu naskhah terbaik tahun ini. Kelainan yang ditampilkan berbanding filem aksi lain pastinya akan memukau penonton.

    Dibandingkan dengan beberapa filem aksi terdahulu Jackie Chan, A Legend tidak dapat dinafikan kehebatannya. Filem ini menampilkan sisi berbeza aktor tersohor ini, yang sudah enam dekad mencipta nama dalam industri perfileman.

    A Legend, yang mendapat sentuhan magis daripada pengarah The Myth, Stanley Tong, berkisarkan tentang Profesor Fang, seorang pakar arkeologi yang dilakonkan oleh Jackie Chan. Profesor Fang menyedari bahawa tekstur pada artifak yang ditemui oleh pelajarnya semasa ekspedisi Glasier sangat mirip dengan loket jed yang pernah dilihat dalam mimpinya.

    Loket jed tersebut menghubungkan alam mimpi dengan realiti. Dengan penuh rasa ingin tahu, Profesor Fang mengetuai pasukan penyelidik dalam perjalanan jauh ke Kuil Glasier untuk mencari kebenaran di sebalik impiannya. Mereka memulakan pengembaraan hebat bersama-sama.
