    The 28th Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP28) is taking place in Dubai, UAE from November 30 to December 12, 2023, bringing a global assembly of stakeholders dedicated to combating climate change. This year, OPPO was invited to join the COP28 Leadership Interviews, featuring a series of discussions among pioneers and business leaders on how collective action across various industries can contribute to a positive impact for the future.     Making electronic devices greener

    From the selection of raw materials to product usage and recycling, OPPO has seamlessly integrated the concept of sustainability into product lifecycle management, aiming to minimize the environmental impact of our products. In 2023, OPPO pledged to achieve carbon neutrality across its global operations by 2050.

    Taking the self-developed OPPO Battery Health Engine as an example, this innovation helps smartphone batteries to maintain more than 80% of their original capacity after as many as 1,600 full charge cycles using OPPO’s 80W SuperVOOC flash charge technology, significantly extending the average lifespan of smartphone batteries[1], and thus reducing electronic wastes.     Inspiration Challenge empowering startups

    In addition to its green initiatives in product design, manufacturing and global operation, OPPO has also joined hands with ecosystem partners to support innovators devoted to green technologies.

    “OPPO Inspiration Challenge”, an innovation accelerator initiated by OPPO Research Institute in 2022, calls for virtuous innovation technologies from global tech professionals and entrepreneurs annually. This year, it launched a new category, “Inspiration for the Planet”, targeting green technologies to minimize the environmental impact of electronic product manufacturing or usage.

    Among these green technologies, Bluepha, a biotech startup, develops biodegradable natural organic polymer to replace plastic usage for packaging and more scenarios. Through working with OPPO, Bluepha explored different solutions for employing its unique bio-based Bluepha® PHA – a biodegradable natural organic polymer that can replace plastic – in smartphone packaging and accessories such as smartphone cases. Invited by OPPO, Bluepha exhibited its solution at COP28. Also, with joint-support from OPPO and its industry partners, Bluepha presented a panel discussion at COP28 hosted at Biosphere 3 Solutions Pavilion, sharing its innovation for climate action.

  • “Abang Adik” Becomes First Southeast Asian Film to Sweep Major Awards at 25th Far East Film Festival, Unveiling a Poignant Narrative of a Disabled Youth and His Orphaned Brother.

    ‘Abang Adik,’ helmed by director Jin Ong, has been making waves abroad even before its anticipated domestic release. The film has garnered noteworthy recognition and awards, establishing itself as a standout work in the global cinematic landscape. With a host of accolades, ‘Abang Adik’ has become a film to watch out for, showcasing the director’s storytelling prowess and the unique narrative that promises to captivate audiences.

    The film ‘Abang Adik,’ produced by Executive Producers Sinje Lee and Alex C. Lo, along with Producers Nicole Teoh and Trini Lam, scheduled to meet audiences in cinemas across Malaysia on December 14, 2023.

    A tragedy has tested the bond between these two siblings, and the film beautifully delves into the conflicts and dilemmas faced by Abang and Adi. 

    Speaking about ‘Abang Adik’, director Jin Ong describes the recognition received from festivals as a positive indication of Southeast Asian works standing shoulder to shoulder with renowned international productions.

Walaubagaimanapun, sehingga kini, kami masih belum dapat penyelesaian yang memuaskan sepenuhnya berhubung perkara ini dan berharap kami dapat mencapainya dengan segera untuk klausa dan isu berkenaan”, kata Rosmin bin Hashim, Pengerusi RIM.

    Majlis makan petang yang dikenali sebagai Sesi Suai Mesra MyCEB Bersama Media: Sejuta Hubungan, Satu Cerita tersebut, telah dihadiri oleh 60 orang wakil kehormat daripada media terkemuka.  Sempena jamuan petang penghargaan tersebut, MyCEB mengambil kesempatan untuk mengalu-alukan dan memperkenalkan YBhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, Ketua Setiausaha bagi Kementerian Pelancongon, Seni dan Budaya (MOTAC) merangkap Pengerusi MyCEB, dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif, YBrs. Encik Azman Haji Tambi Chik.  Majlis sambutan yang mesra tersebut menyaksikan Dato’ Roslan dan Encik Azman menyampaikan ucapan alu-aluan, ucapan pembukaan dan memperkenalkan langkah yang diatur untuk usaha-usaha Biro pada masa hadapan.

    “Petang ini menandakan detik penting dalam mengiktiraf peranan penting yang dimainkan oleh media dalam kejayaan dan daya tahan industri acara perniagaan.  Kami amat berterima kasih di atas sokongan media, dan kami juga berharap agar dalam peranan baharu kami, kami akan terus menerima dedikasi yang tidak berbelah bahagi, liputan yang berwawasan dan semangat kerjasama media di saat kami mengorak langkah dalam mengemudi perjalanan yang mengujakan pada masa hadapan,” kata Dato’ Roslan.

    “Acara petang ini jelas menggambarkan penglibatan pihak kami yang bersungguh-sungguh dengan rakan media kami.  Sesungguhnya, ia boleh disimpulkan sebagai seribu hubungan yang terjalin oleh kisah-kisah hebat yang disampaikan melalui satu mesej utama, iaitu untuk mengukuhkan Malaysia sebagai magnet untuk acara perniagaan antarabangsa, yang disokong oleh MyCEB dan pemain industri kami.  Saya amat berterima kasih kepada semua pihak penerbitan yang hadir pada petang ini.  Semoga kita dapat meneruskan perkongsian ini, berkongsi naratif yang menarik dan mempromosikan pertumbuhan dan kejayaan acara perniagaan bersama-sama,” sambung Encik Azman.

    Pada acara tersebut, MyCEB mendedahkan bahawa Biro sedang bersiap sedia untuk masa hadapan yang dinamik dalam penglibatan media, dengan mengambil pendekatan pelbagai aspek.  Biro bertujuan untuk memupuk kerjasama dan perkongsian yang lebih kukuh dengan entiti media, dan membayangkan landskap kejayaan dan kecemerlangan yang mampan dalam industri acara perniagaan.  Selain daripada itu, MyCEB bersedia untuk memudahkan lawatan media yang teratur, untuk memupuk persefahaman bersama mengenai tawaran industri.

    Rakan kongsi media akan menikmati pengalaman yang eksklusif, dengan menerima jemputan secara langsung untuk menghadiri program dan acara anjuran MyCEB.  Tambahan pula, MyCEB merancang untuk terlibat dalam perbincangan meja bulat yang berwawasan dengan wakil media, mewujudkan satu platform penting untuk bertukar-tukar pandangan dan idea yang berharga.

    Mencerminkan pencapaian untuk tahun 2023, MyCEB berkongsi jumlah pencapaian nilai PR pada tahun ini sebanyak RM174.8 juta dari Januari hingga kini.  Angka penting tersebut menjadi bukti kepada sokongan dan komitmen oleh media, yang menyumbang kepada daya tahan dan kejayaan industri.

    Meninjau ke hadapan untuk tahun 2024, MyCEB sangat teruja dalam merangkakan program dan aktiviti yang lebih menarik bersama media, sekaligus mengiktiraf media sebagai asas industri.  Dengan sokongan dan liputan yang berterusan daripada media, MyCEB bersedia untuk mengecapi kejayaan, setelah mencapai sebanyak 305 acara perniagaan yang akan diadakan di dalam tempoh 2023 sehingga 2030. Jumlah acara perniagaan yang bakal berlangsung dianggarkan bakal mengalu-alukan hampir sejuta orang delegasi antarabangsa dan tempatan.
