Kuala Lumpur, 21 July 2026 – Castrol Malaysia has introduced eHailing Heroes, a 12-month initiative designed to support e-hailing drivers by easing vehicle maintenance costs while helping ensure safer and more comfortable journeys for passengers during Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
Developed with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Persatuan Pengguna Pengangkutan Awam Malaysia (4PAM), the programme was officially announced at a press conference held at Rom 8 Studio. The launch was officiated by Yang Berusaha Encik Mohd Akbal Setia, Senior Director of Advertising and Digital, Tourism Malaysia, and Head of Secretariat for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
For its first phase, eHailing Heroes will benefit up to 3,000 e-hailing vehicles, starting with drivers in the Klang Valley. Participants will receive subsidised Castrol MAGNATEC servicing, vehicle branding opportunities and access to Castrol Auto Service workshops nationwide.
Drivers who complete 8,000 kilometres of verified mileage will also receive an RM80 Castrol MAGNATEC service package e-voucher, covering engine oil, oil filter and labour costs at selected Castrol Auto Service workshops.
The initiative highlights the important role e-hailing drivers play within Malaysia’s tourism ecosystem. Beyond simply providing transportation, these drivers are often among the first points of contact for visitors, bringing tourists from airports to hotels, attractions, shopping areas, food destinations and local communities.
Yang Berusaha Encik Mohd Akbal Setia said that supporting e-hailing drivers means strengthening the overall visitor experience in Malaysia. According to him, a comfortable, safe and friendly journey contributes to how visitors view the country, making drivers an important part of the preparation for VM2026.
Castrol Malaysia believes that vehicle maintenance is a key part of supporting the livelihood of e-hailing drivers, who spend long hours on the road facing heavy traffic, frequent stops, repeated short-distance trips and high daily mileage.
Castrol MAGNATEC was selected for the programme as it is designed for modern urban driving conditions. Its intelligent molecules help protect critical engine parts by providing 50% better protection against warm-up and restart wear*, supporting drivers who rely heavily on their vehicles every day.

Ajit Johl, President of Persatuan Pengguna Pengangkutan Awam Malaysia (4PAM), added that vehicle condition and driver support are closely connected to passenger confidence, as safer and better-maintained vehicles contribute to smoother travel experiences.
As part of its ongoing support, Castrol will also provide a 10% discount across its passenger car engine oil range from August onwards, helping more vehicle owners maintain their cars.
Through eHailing Heroes, Castrol aims to strengthen everyday mobility in Malaysia by supporting drivers, improving vehicle readiness and contributing towards a better travel experience ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
