A New Way to Service Cars: BIRU and APSB Bundle Protection with Maintenance

Biru InsureTech Sdn. Bhd. (BIRU), a subsidiary of Bateriku (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Bateriku), has teamed up with Advance Profinity Sdn. Bhd. (APSB), the official distributor of Mannol and Champion lubricants, to introduce the AutoMaster Care programme. Through this collaboration, BIRU is offering Personal Accident Protection (PAP) coverage to users who take part in the Auto Master Care programme.

The initiative is designed to make protection more accessible by embedding it directly into everyday vehicle servicing. Motorists who carry out engine oil servicing using Mannol or Champion lubricants at selected service outlets will automatically qualify for the coverage, with no extra cost involved. This removes the need for customers to purchase separate insurance plans.

The PAP coverage comes with a set of basic benefits for motorists. It includes medical expenses coverage of up to RM150 and ambulance coverage of up to RM300 in the event of an accident. If an injury occurs, the plan provides RM1,500 for broken bones, while total permanent disability is covered up to RM4,000. In the case of accidental death, the payout is RM4,000, along with RM1,000 for funeral expenses.

Once users confirm their purchase through the Auto Master Care platform, the coverage will be activated. From the same platform, users can also check their active coverage period and manage related details such as claims through a centralised digital system.

The protection is valid for four months from the date of activation and applies to eligible passenger car motor oil (PCMO) vehicles within the Auto Master Care ecosystem.

This collaboration between BIRU and APSB adds extra value to motorists by combining routine vehicle maintenance with built-in protection benefits. A similar approach was also introduced by Bateriku in 2025 through its Astra Batteries offering, where every battery purchase comes with Group Personal Accident (GPA) Takaful coverage of up to RM7,000 for customers.

With these initiatives, the automotive ecosystem is gradually moving towards integrating financial protection into everyday vehicle products and services. This shift not only improves consumer confidence but also encourages industry players to offer more value-added solutions, ultimately enhancing the overall ownership experience for motorists in Malaysia.
