Huawei Powers Ahead with 5G-A and AI-Driven Transformation at MWC Shanghai 2025

At MWC Shanghai 2025, Huawei is showcasing its latest advancements in 5G Advanced (5G-A) and scenario-based AI services under the theme “Accelerating the Intelligent World.” The company is using this platform to explore new paths for carrier growth by leveraging AI to create meaningful value across networks, services, and operations.

Huawei’s exhibition focuses on three strategic areas: services, infrastructure, and operations. In services, the company highlights its collaboration with China’s three major telecom carriers on AItoX (AI to Everything) initiatives, demonstrating successful projects that leverage AI agents to deliver smarter, more personalized user experiences across various real-world scenarios.

On the infrastructure front, Huawei is introducing a new AI Ultra-Broadband (AI UBB) solution. This comprehensive offering spans from home broadband to transport networks and includes end-to-end computing capabilities. It is designed to enhance network performance and autonomy, enabling improved AI application experiences and unlocking new business models. Carrier partners are also sharing insights on building AI-centric networks and establishing AI computing hubs to support broader digital transformation.

In terms of operations, Huawei and its carrier partners are presenting their latest achievements in intelligent network management. These include advancements in intelligent wireless and home broadband operations, as well as AI computing services that assist with model training and inference. These capabilities are helping carriers to better build, manage, and monetize their computing resources.

Commercial adoption of 5G-A is accelerating across China, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. In China alone, 5G-A is now available in more than 300 cities, with over 10 million users and 5G-A mobile plans offered across 30 provinces. Carriers are also exploring new monetization models, such as premium upgrade initiatives, which reflect the growing value of enhanced user experiences.

In his keynote speech, Huawei Deputy Chairman and Rotating Chairman Eric Xu addressed the evolving state of the telecom industry. He emphasized that after decades of growth, the industry must now focus on sustainable innovation. Xu outlined four strategies for carrier growth: responding to changing user demands, expanding HD video consumption, bringing 5G to connected vehicles, and empowering micro and small businesses with fiber and AI solutions. He concluded by reaffirming Huawei’s commitment to supporting carriers in identifying unique growth paths tailored to their markets and challenges.

With AI now reshaping how people interact with technology and society, Huawei believes carriers are uniquely positioned to lead this change. By leveraging their strengths in cloud, networks, intelligence, and computing, telecom operators can transform into providers of intelligent, integrated services. In smart homes, vehicles, and enterprise scenarios, carriers are using AI to create new digital experiences and business opportunities.

At MWC Shanghai 2025, Huawei makes it clear that the future of telecommunications is not just about faster speeds — it’s about intelligent, value-driven transformation powered by 5G-A and AI.
