HONOR’s latest foldable flagship, the Magic V5, made a powerful debut over the weekend, capturing widespread attention across Malaysia. With impressive first weekend sales, the foldable device drew large numbers of customers to HONOR Experience Stores nationwide, especially at the newly opened flagship outlet in Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru.
The launch weekend coincided with the grand opening of HONOR’s largest overseas Experience Store and Service Centre on 26 July. The new flagship location saw the highest foot traffic among HONOR outlets, as curious consumers packed the store to witness this milestone event. The opening ceremony was officiated by Justin Li, President of HONOR South Pacific, alongside Lee Fook Sin, Director of The Hello Station.
In his remarks, Justin Li expressed pride in Malaysia’s role as the first country outside China to host HONOR’s largest Experience Store. “HONOR’s growth in Malaysia has been exceptional. Just last month, we celebrated the opening of our 100th store at KLCC. This new flagship store in Johor Bahru reflects our deep commitment to the Malaysian market, not only by offering innovative products like the Magic V5, but also by enhancing customer experience through premium after-sales service,” said Li. “We’re pleased to see such a warm reception for the Magic V5 among Malaysians.”
Much of the buzz surrounding the Magic V5 stems from its ultra-slim foldable design, enhanced specifications, and a compelling launch offer. Customers were enticed by a trade-in rebate of RM400, along with exclusive gifts valued at RM2,697, including the HONOR CHOICE Earbuds Clip, a 1-Year Crack Protection warranty, and 2-Year Quality Assurance.
To mark the store’s opening, HONOR organised a variety of engaging activities. Shoppers enjoyed attractive deals, participated in lucky draws, and received surprise gifts through blind box giveaways. The experience was elevated by an HONOR Magic V5 AI workshop, a teardown display revealing the phone’s silicon-carbon battery technology, and a creative corner where a local artist sketched live portraits for visitors. These activities showcased the store’s unique concept of merging retail, product education, and after-sales service under one roof — a new benchmark for HONOR’s retail model globally.
One of the first customers to purchase the Magic V5, Farid, shared his excitement: “I was really impressed with how slim and powerful the phone is. The long battery life, fast charging and multitasking AI tools are perfect for my daily work routine. After seeing the opening event on Facebook, I headed straight to Johor Bahru to get mine.”
The HONOR Magic V5 comes in a single configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, and is available in four stylish finishes: Dawn Gold, Ivory White, Silk Brown and Black. It is available for purchase via the HONOR Malaysia official website, HONOR Experience Stores, and through platforms including Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and authorized retail partners such as Harvey Norman, Senheng, SenQ, and Urban Republic.
To make the device more accessible, HONOR is also offering a 24-month installment plan at 0% interest, bringing the monthly payment down to RM292.
