HONOR, a global leader in AI-powered smart device ecosystems, has received two major accolades at the GSMA Digital Nation Awards 2025, underscoring its commitment to digital inclusion, innovation, and accessibility. As the only participant to win two awards this year, HONOR was recognized with the Excellence in Digital Inclusion Video Award and the Best Digital Nation Video Award.
The recognition was awarded to HONOR’s awareness campaign, Freeze for ALS, HONOR the Challenger, which highlighted the realities of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurological disease that often limits patients to controlling only their eye movements. The campaign was commended for its ability to showcase the transformative role of mobile technology in promoting sustainability, digital inclusion, and innovation. Competing against 17 other finalists across the Asia Pacific region, HONOR secured top honors for its compelling storytelling and impactful message.
To support individuals with disabilities such as ALS, HONOR has developed multimodal AI eye-tracking technology that allows users to control their smartphones entirely with their eyes. From opening notifications to launching applications, this innovation enables hands-free operation and enhances accessibility, significantly improving the quality of life for users with limited mobility.
Justin Li, President of HONOR South Pacific, expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that being the only company to secure two awards at the GSMA APAC Digital Nation Awards 2025 is a proud moment for the brand. He emphasized that the achievement reflects HONOR’s dedication to shaping a more inclusive and sustainable digital future both globally and locally, stating, “HONOR MY Life, HONOR MY Future.”

Alongside celebrating its awards, HONOR also underscored its focus on digital trust and cybersecurity during the Digital Nation Summit Kuala Lumpur (ASEAN Edition). In his keynote speech titled Cybersecurity and Digital Trust: Safeguarding ASEAN’s Digital Future, Li stressed that effective and accessible security requires human-centric innovation coupled with strong partnerships. HONOR collaborates with regulators, platforms, and software partners to build safer online environments, working closely in Malaysia with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and MyDigital ID to enhance secure and seamless access to digital services while ensuring user privacy.
HONOR further strengthened its commitment by integrating AI Deepfake Detection technology into its smartphones at no additional cost to consumers. This feature is designed to identify fake or manipulated content during video calls, reinforcing the brand’s promise to safeguard user security and privacy. Li highlighted that cybersecurity should be viewed as a necessity rather than an expense, particularly in emerging markets where affordability is essential. He pointed to HONOR’s mid-range X Series, including the latest X9d 5G, which is equipped with advanced security features such as fingerprint identification and facial recognition, demonstrating the brand’s dedication to making advanced security accessible to all.
Through its dual recognition at the GSMA Digital Nation Awards and its ongoing advancements in digital trust and cybersecurity, HONOR continues to strengthen its role as a leader in creating inclusive, secure, and innovative digital ecosystems for communities worldwide.
