  • MISS COSMOWORLD MALAYSIA 2023 GRAND FINAL: TAY CHEAH TAKES THE CROWN, HEADED TO INTERNATIONAL FINALS WITH RM500,000 CASH PRIZE, AND RM1,000,000 IN PRIZES AT STAKE

    Elegance and beauty converged at the JW Marriott for the Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023 grand final last weekend. The spotlight was captured by 25-year-old Tay Cheah (谢莹莹), an aspiring actress and model, as she clinched the coveted title of Miss CosmoWorld 2023. The first runner-up title was gracefully awarded to 24-year-old dancer Crystal Low (刘瀞蔚), while the third spot was secured by 27-year-old Kuala Lumpur native and IT consultant, Chin Wei Jean (陈薇菁). These winners not only received their crowns but also took home cash prizes and sponsored rewards worth almost RM350,000, accompanied by the customary sashes and gleaming trophies.

    Describing her win as a surprise, Cheah said, “I really did not expect to win tonight. I am grateful to the judges for valuing my hard work throughout the night, and I will work even harder for the grand final. My victory is a testament to every girl with ambitions in this country, that is to be confident, to love and trust themselves because they can certainly be anyone they wish to be.” Cheah’s crowning as Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023 also came with a RM42,000 total cash prize along with other sponsored vouchers and items worth more than RM150,000. The Selangor-born model, who triumphed over 14 other contestants, will begin her beauty pageant camp at the Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur and represent Malaysia to compete at the Miss CosmoWorld International 2023 world final, which will be held at the St. Regis Hotel on November 29, with prizes worth more than RM1,000,000 up for grabs.

    The first runner-up, Low, was also awarded the subsidiary titles of Miss Talent presented by Prop Buddies and Miss Charming presented by MeLife. A performing arts graduate from Sunway University, she also expressed her surprise although she believes that Cheah deserved her win, “I am surprised at winning the first runner-up and I am very grateful for this win. I couldn’t be happier for  Tay (Cheah) as she deserves the title, especially with her strong leadership and motivational support for all the girls during pageant week, and I’m excited to see her represent the women of Malaysia at the international grand final.”

    Meanwhile, Chin, who has never joined any beauty pageant before, was chuffed at her winning the second runner-up of Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023. “I feel overwhelmed with gratitude. This is the first time in my life joining a beauty pageant. Winning second runner-up and two subsidiary titles, I am happy with my achievement,” said Chin. Highlighting Latin dance performance as something that she would cherish from her experience in the pageant, she was also awarded the subsidiary titles of  Miss Popularity presented by Xpaze and Miss Elegant presented by Voyager.

    Organized by CL Skin Sdn. Bhd., Miss CosmoWorld founder, Carrie Lee, emphasizes that the beauty pageant is aimed at grooming passionate local youth, enhancing their talents and skills to young women across Malaysia. “Having won a beauty pageant myself, I feel the need to give back to the community especially to women in the country and empower them so that their potentials are not restricted by the gender stereotypes that we often experience not only in this country but around the world, and this year is no different,” said Lee, who had achieved pageantry success in the past when she was crowned as Miss Chinese Cosmos 2004.

    15 contestants were made to go through various rounds during the final night including swimsuits, corsets, evening gowns as well as a Q&A session. The following are the winners of Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023:

    Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is set to embark on an exciting journey at the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibition (MICE) expo, IBTM World in Barcelona, Spain from the 28-30 November 2023. Teaming up with 15 industry champions, which include state bureaus, hotels, tour operators, and convention centres, Team Malaysia is primed to introduce the nation’s latest offerings, exceptional capabilities, and the dynamic spirit of the destination to a global audience.

    Mr. Zain Azrai Rashid, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, expressed his belief in the significance of IBTM World as a strategic platform for Malaysia to connect with the European and international market. “I have a strong conviction that IBTM World has consistently served as and will remain a vital platform for us, providing access to the European and global markets.     Lagu ini menceritakan pasangan kekasih yang tidak setia kepada pasangan sehingga membawa keretakan perhubungan yang tidak ikhlas sehingga membawa perpisahan diantara mereka. Hubungan baru yang didasari oleh kejujuran, pengertian, dan saling menghargai sebenarnya ada di depan mata mereka, hanya saja tersembunyi oleh kerumitan dan kebingungannya sendiri. Achik juga menghuraikan bahawa, lagu ini mengisahkan mengenai percintaan yang musnah akibat daripada pasangan yang tak menghargai, hanya bermanis-manis pada awal perhubungan dan ia sekadar hubungan yang penuh sandirawa dari kata-kata dusta.

    Achik meluahkan perasaan lega semasa proses rakaman lagu sangat berjalan lancar kerana dibantu oleh Eddie Hamid, seorang komposer yang cukup berpengalaman serta jurutera bunyi yang berpengalaman, Encik Amir. Proses menyiapkan lagu sangat baik dan tidak mengambil masa yang lama. Achik dan Nadia dibantu oleh individu yang memang berpengalaman dalam bidang mereka.

    Kru dan semua yang terbabit dalam penggambaran MV Sabarlah Hati ini bantu kami untuk lebih menjiwai karakter bagi menjayakan MV ini. Nadia berkata cabaran dilalui ketika proses menyiapkan lagu dan MV Sabarlah Hati adalah pengalaman berharga buat mereka. Nadia berkata, banyak perkara yang menghiburkan sewaktu bersama kru produksi sepanjang pembikinan MV ini. Dia berterima kasih pada semua yang terbabit kerana banyak membantunya. Ini merupakan satu memori yang dia takkan lupakan.

    Nadia berharap semoga lagu Sabarlah Hati dapat diterima ramai dan sekaligus melonjakkan nama mereka berdua dalam industri muzik. Semoga lagu ini dimainkan di corong radio serta di mana-mana platform digital.

  • Konsert Ulangtahun Anuar Zain yang ke 40 Anjuran JioBuddy

    Konsert yang telah berlangsung di Stadium Malawati Shah Alam, Selangor Berjaya memukau 8,000 peminat yang hadir di tempat tersebut dengan penuh semangat.

    Konsert anjuran “JioBuddy” telah mengumumkan Jennifer Thompson sebagai pengarah konsert, manakala Sze Wan sebagai pengarah muzik dalam Anuar Zain 40th Anniversary Concert.

    Bagi pihak penganjur, konsert ini akan menjadi sebuah lagi lakaran sejarah yang penting buat pelantun lagu Lelaki Ini dalam perjalanan karier seninya yang sentiasa mendapat sokongan positif dari semua pihak.

    Walaupun mengakui kesihatannya menghalangnya, penyanyi Anuar Zain menunjukkan dia komited untuk menghiburkan 8,000 orang yang hadir ke Konsert Anuar Zain 40th Anniversary pada Sabtu lepas.

  • MEMPERKASA RAKYAT SABAH DALAM MEMBANTERAS JENAYAH SCAM MELALUI PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM JELAJAH ANTI-SCAM KEBANGSAAN

    Siri Jelajah Anti-Scam Kebangsaan 2023  meneruskan misinya untuk meningkatkan kesedaran awam rakyat negeri Sabah mengenai penipuan (scam) dan ancaman siber. Program ini yang dianjurkan bersama oleh CyberSecurity Malaysia dan CelcomDigi dengan kerjasama Gabungan Bertindak Anti-Scam (GBAS) serta sokongan Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (KKD) diadakan pada 28 dan 29 Oktober 2023 di Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

    Program kesedaran awam ini bertujuan untuk memberi pengetahuan kepada masyarakat mengenai jenis-jenis jenayah scam, modus operandi terkini, serta tips amalan terbaik untuk mengelakkan diri daripada mudah terpedaya dan menjadi mangsa.

    Pengerusi Lembaga Pengarah, CyberSecurity Malaysia, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli Mohd Zin (Bersara) menekankan bahawa “Jenayah scam di Malaysia masih berleluasa walaupun usaha dijalankan oleh pelbagai pihak untuk membanteras jenayah ini. Scammer masih aktif dengan menggunakan pelbagai bentuk modus operandi dan taktik untuk menipu serta memperdaya orang ramai. Mereka mengambil kesempatan daripada kedaifan, ketakutan, atau ketidaktahuan mangsa untuk mencuri wang. Oleh itu, bagi mengatasi isu ini, sangat penting untuk kita tingkatkan program kesedaran awam mengenai jenayah scam. Individu perlu sentiasa berwaspada dan tidak memberi maklumat peribadi atau wang kepada pihak yang mencurigakan.”

    Sepanjang tahun 2022, Pusat Tindakbalas Insiden Siber Cyber999 kendalian CyberSecurity Malaysia mencatatkan sebanyak 7,292 insiden keselamatan siber. Daripada jumlah ini, insiden penipuan dalam talian merupakan insiden yang paling banyak dilaporkan, iaitu 4,741 kes atau 65 peratus daripada jumlah keseluruhan laporan.

    Manakala, dari bulan Januari sehingga September 2023, Cyber999 menerima sebanyak 4,381 insiden keselamatan siber dengan insiden penipuan dalam talian masih berada pada kedudukan teratas dengan jumlah laporan sebanyak 2,788.

    Menurut Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif CelcomDigi, Datuk Idham Nawawi, “Sebagai penyedia perkhidmatan digital, kami mempunyai tanggungjawab kami dalam mewujudkan pengalaman internet yang lebih selamat untuk semua warga digital. Kami menekankan prinsip A.C.T (BERTINDAK) iaitu memupuk Kesedaran (Awareness), meningkatkan tahap Pematuhan (Compliance) dalam organisasi dan bekerjasama dengan agensi penguatkuasaan, serta mengoptimumkan penggunaaan Teknologi (Technology) dalam memerangi ancaman scam. CelcomDigi memahami kepentingan menyediakan kesalinghubungan internet yang kondusif dan selamat untuk semua pengguna selain bertanggungjawab menyemai kemahiran penggunaan internet yang selamat di kalangan rakyat Malaysia. Kami percaya bahawa inisiatif secara kolektif ini dapat memberikan impak yang besar dalam memerangi scam secara berkesan.”

    Perasmian Jelajah Anti-Scam Kebangsaan 2023 Peringkat Negeri Sabah telah disempurnakan oleh YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, Ketua Menteri Sabah. Teks ucapan beliau dibacakan oleh YB Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Bin Yahya, Timbalan Ketua Menteri III/ Menteri Kerja Raya yang mewakili Ketua Menteri.

    Turut hadir ialah YB Fahmi Fadzil, Menteri Komunikasi dan Digital; YB Teo Nie Ching, Timbalan Menteri Komunikasi dan Digital; Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli Mohd Zin (Bersara), Pengerusi Lembaga Pengarah, CyberSecurity Malaysia; dan Joachim Rajaram, Ketua Pegawai Hal Ehwal Korporat CelcomDigi.

    Lebih 400 peserta terdiri daripada para pelajar IPT, pensyarah dan guru, remaja dan belia, ibu bapa serta wakil komuniti setempat termasuk penjawat awam negeri Sabah hadir pada sesi dialog dan forum anti-scam sempena program ini.

    Sabah merupakan negeri ke-empat siri jelajah anti-scam selain Selangor/Kuala Lumpur (18 Februari 2023), Perlis (20 Mei 2023) dan Sarawak (2 & 3 September 2023). Jelajah Anti-Scam Kebangsaan 2023 akan turut diadakan di negeri Kelantan, Johor dan dijangka berakhir di Putrajaya.

    Program Anti-Scam Kebangsaan 2023 diilhamkan oleh Gabungan Bertindak Anti-Scam (GBAS) yang dianggotai oleh CyberSecurity Malaysia, CelcomDigi, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Yayasan Pencegahan Jenayah Malaysia (MCPF), Persatuan Pengguna Siber Malaysia (MCCA) serta beberapa Badan Bukan Kerajaan (NGO) lain.

    Ia turut mendapat sokongan dari Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM), Pusat Pencegahan Jenayah Kewangan Nasional (NFCC), Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia (SKMM), Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (JPDP).
