    Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford (Auto ConneXion-Ford) reinforces its commitment to customers in East Malaysia with the establishment of its new East Malaysia Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu, improving parts availability and delivering faster, more efficient aftersales support across Sabah and Sarawak. Service facilities that will benefit include those in Kapit and Mukah, along with nine sales and service touchpoints across Sabah and Sarawak.

    KUALA LUMPUR, July 23, 2026 — Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford, the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, has expanded its Ford Ranger line-up with the introduction of the latest Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL, as the Next-Generation Ford Ranger surpasses 24,000 units on Malaysian roads since its debut in 2022.

    The milestone highlights the continued popularity of the Ranger in Malaysia, while the expanded line-up reflects Ford’s efforts to cater to changing customer expectations as pick-up trucks increasingly serve a wider range of purposes, from business and commercial operations to daily commuting, family trips and outdoor adventures.

    The latest three-variant line-up offers customers different levels of capability, comfort and versatility. The Ranger XL is positioned as a practical workhorse for businesses, fleet operators and commercial users, while the Ranger Sport combines bold styling, performance and everyday versatility for urban professionals and active families. At the top of the range, the Ranger Platinum brings together premium comfort, advanced features and strong pick-up capability for customers seeking a more refined driving experience.

    The Ranger’s global track record further reinforces its position in the pick-up truck segment. Ford has sold approximately 5.1 million Rangers across more than 180 markets over the past 20 years, while the model has received international recognition including the 2025 North American Truck of the Year award. The Ranger also continues to be a best-selling vehicle in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a leading pick-up in Vietnam and Europe.

    In Malaysia, the Next-Generation Ford Ranger has earned several industry accolades. At the MARii Car of the Year (COTY) Awards 2024, the Ford Ranger Platinum 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel received both the People’s Choice Award and Truck of the Year recognition. The following year, the Ford Ranger WildTrak 3.0 V6 was named Pickup Truck of the Year at the MARii COTY Awards 2025.

    Managing Director of Auto ConneXion, Turse Zuhair, said the more than 24,000 Rangers currently on Malaysian roads demonstrate the confidence customers have placed in the model’s capabilities.

    He added that the expanded Ranger family is designed to meet evolving expectations by offering a balance of toughness, technology and premium comfort, while supporting customers across different aspects of their lives, whether for business, family or leisure.

    Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford expands Ford Ranger line-up comprising the Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL, marking the next chapter in the evolution of Malaysia’s best-selling work and lifestyle pickup truck.

    The latest Ranger line-up offers up to 1,000kg of payload capacity, 3,500kg of towing capability and 800mm of water-wading depth. Depending on variant, the range is equipped with features including a 10-speed automatic transmission with Select Shift, Electronic Shift-on-the-Fly, Electromagnetic Transfer Case and various selectable drive modes.

    Inside the cabin, selected Ranger variants offer features such as a 12-inch Multi-Touchscreen Display Head Unit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, Voice Recognition, Electronic Dual-Zone Climate Control Air Conditioning and up to four USB charging ports. Ford’s intelligent driver-assistance technologies further enhance convenience and confidence behind the wheel.

    The new Ranger Platinum sits at the top of the expanded line-up and is powered by a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine producing 250PS and 600Nm of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the premium variant features an exclusive Platinum grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, Flexible Rack System and the exclusive Acacia Green exterior colour.

    Inside, the Ranger Platinum features quilted leather-accented seats with heating and ventilation for the driver and front passenger, Platinum interior finishes and embossing, as well as a Bang & Olufsen eight-speaker sound system, offering a more premium cabin experience.

    Meanwhile, the Ranger Sport is designed for customers seeking a combination of style, performance and versatility. Available with either a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel or 2.0L turbo diesel engine, the model features sporty black exterior accents, an aggressive grille design, 18-inch alloy wheels and a two-tone interior. The 3.0L variant comes with full-time four-wheel drive, while the 2.0L variant features a part-time four-wheel-drive system.

    The Ranger XL, meanwhile, focuses on practicality and durability, catering particularly to businesses, fleet operators and commercial users. It features a practical truck bed, durable exterior design, six airbags and intuitive technologies designed to support demanding day-to-day operations.

    Alongside the expanded vehicle line-up, Auto ConneXion-Ford is also strengthening its after-sales support in East Malaysia with the establishment of a new Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The facility, which began phased operations from 27 July 2026, complements the existing Central Parts Hub in Shah Alam and is designed to improve access to genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts.

    The Kota Kinabalu facility will initially carry approximately 1,000 fast-moving genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts, covering maintenance, wear-and-tear and accident repair components. Selected fast-moving parts will be available for same-day delivery within the Kota Kinabalu area, helping to reduce parts lead times and support faster repairs.

    Auto ConneXion-Ford currently operates through 33 authorised Ford dealer locations nationwide, including nine sales and service touchpoints across East Malaysia comprising seven dealerships and two dedicated service centres. Service support is also extended to communities in Kapit and Mukah, Sarawak.

    The expanded Ford Ranger line-up is now available for booking at authorised Ford dealerships nationwide. In Peninsular Malaysia, prices start from RM127,888 for the Ranger XL, RM145,888 for the Ranger Sport 2.0L, RM159,888 for the Ranger Sport 3.0L and RM205,888 for the Ranger Platinum, all on-the-road without insurance.

    As part of the limited launch promotion, customers purchasing the Ranger XL or Ranger Sport 2.0L by 31 August 2026 will receive a complimentary Ford Front HD1080p Dashcam, while buyers of the Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum 3.0L will receive a complimentary two-year Basic Extended Service Plan.

    Ford owners and enthusiasts can also look forward to the inaugural Ford Nation event on 1 August 2026, from 5pm to 10pm at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur. The event will bring together the growing Ford community through vehicle showcases, activities and shared experiences.

    Menurut Sami Malkawi, Pengarah Eksekutif Pasaran Pengedar Ford Asia Pasifik, model terbaharu ini menawarkan kelebihan yang lebih besar berbanding enjin 2.0-liter sebelum ini. Ia bukan sahaja memberi pemanduan lebih lancar, malah menampilkan ciri-ciri lengkap yang menjadikan Ford Ranger pilihan utama dalam segmen trak pikap.

    Dari segi prestasi, enjin 3.0L V6 turbo diesel ini menghasilkan 250PS pada 3,250 rpm serta tork maksimum 600Nm pada 1,750 rpm, angka tertinggi dalam kelasnya. Kuasa ini digabungkan dengan sistem pacuan empat roda sepenuhnya dan transmisi automatik 10 kelajuan, membolehkan pertukaran gear yang lancar dan fleksibiliti dengan enam mod pemanduan termasuk Normal, Eco, Tow atau Haul, Slippery, Mud atau Ruts, dan Sand. Harga bermula daripada RM192,888 di Semenanjung Malaysia, manakala di Sabah dan Sarawak ia dijual pada RM198,688.
