Samsung has unveiled its most refined foldable smartphone yet, the Galaxy Z Fold7, at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in New York. Marking a milestone in mobile design and engineering, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is now Samsung’s thinnest foldable, measuring just 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. This represents a 48 percent thickness reduction compared to the original Galaxy Fold released in 2019.
The Fold7’s slim new profile is made possible by Samsung’s latest hinge innovation, the Armor FlexHinge, which combines compact design with durable construction. Designed for both productivity and entertainment, the Galaxy Z Fold7 also features the largest main display in the series so far – a vibrant 8.0-inch screen when fully unfolded and a 6.5-inch cover display for everyday use.
This launch celebrates six years of progress in Samsung’s foldable journey. Since the debut of the Galaxy Fold in 2019, each generation has brought improvements in form, performance, and experience. In just the past year alone, Samsung managed to reduce the Fold’s thickness by 26 percent compared to the Fold6, thanks to advancements in hinge technology and internal structure design.
Equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is built to deliver high-end performance for multitasking, gaming, and creative work. The camera system introduces 4K 60fps recording, lossless optical zoom, and pro-grade cinematic presets. AI-powered tools such as Essential Space, Flip to Record, and intelligent LED-based notifications through the Glyph Matrix offer intuitive user experiences in both folded and unfolded modes.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is available for pre-order in Malaysia from 9 to 31 July 2025, starting at RM3,999. Customers can choose from several colours including Silver Shadow, Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and Mint, the latter being available exclusively online.
