  • Guizhou Sasar Pasaran ASEAN Melalui Kerjasama Strategik Dengan Malaysia

Guizhou Sasar Pasaran ASEAN Melalui Kerjasama Strategik Dengan Malaysia

  • Sunway Medical Centre Velocity Strengthens Patient Care Through Integrated Digital Diagnostic Platform

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity Strengthens Patient Care Through Integrated Digital Diagnostic Platform

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) has become the first hospital in Southeast Asia to launch the comprehensive NORAV Clinical Management System, an integrated digital platform designed to centralise diagnostic information, streamline clinical workflows and support faster, more coordinated patient care.

The new system connects multiple diagnostic services into a single digital platform, allowing authorised healthcare professionals to securely access patient information and medical reports from different locations within the hospital. This enables healthcare teams to make faster decisions while improving collaboration between departments.

The launch was officiated by Dr Khoo Chow Huat, Managing Director of Hospital & Healthcare Operations at Sunway Healthcare Group; Ms Susan Cheow, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre Velocity; Mr Jordan Meshil, Vice President of International Sales at NORAV Medical; and Mr Ravi Kumaran, Business Development Manager at Sun Medical Systems. The event was also attended by senior management representatives from Sunway Healthcare Group and SMCV, consultant cardiologists, and representatives from Sun Medical Systems.

    Healthcare Group (SHG)
Ms Susan Cheow, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV)

The NORAV Medical ECG Management System (NEMS) Web platform integrates six diagnostic services, including electrocardiogram (ECG), cardiac stress testing, pulmonary function testing (PFT), Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), and ankle-brachial pressure index testing (ABPI).

By bringing these services together within one connected digital workflow, diagnostic information can be stored, managed and securely shared across relevant departments in real time. This allows healthcare professionals to access patient records and reports more efficiently, supporting quicker clinical interpretation, reporting and coordination among multidisciplinary teams.

Ms Susan Cheow said the introduction of the NORAV Clinical Management System strengthens the way diagnostic information is managed and shared across SMCV, providing clinical teams with timely access to essential information when making treatment decisions.

She added that the system supports a smoother patient journey from assessment to treatment by reducing waiting times for reports and improving coordination among healthcare professionals involved in patient care.

The integrated platform replaces fragmented systems and manual processes with a unified digital workflow, helping to reduce administrative workload while improving the accessibility and turnaround time of diagnostic information. Clinicians can review current and previous medical records more efficiently, allowing them to gain a clearer understanding of each patient’s condition.

Dr Tee Chee Hian, Consultant Physician and Cardiologist, highlighted that timely access to complete and accurate diagnostic information plays an important role in clinical decision-making, especially for patients requiring multiple investigations or care from different specialists.

According to him, having diagnostic records available through one integrated system enables healthcare teams to review results more effectively, understand patients’ conditions more comprehensively and coordinate treatment plans more seamlessly.

The system also enhances the overall patient experience by allowing information to move more efficiently between departments while maintaining the security and accessibility of medical records.

Mr Jordan Meshil explained that before an integrated system is implemented, diagnostic data often remains separated within individual departments, requiring multiple internal steps to share results. The NORAV Comprehensive Clinical Management System removes these barriers by bringing information from different diagnostic services into one unified record.

With easier access to digital records from hospital workstations, the system also reduces the need for printed documents. NORAV Medical expressed its commitment to supporting SMCV and Sun Medical Systems in advancing digitally connected healthcare through this first comprehensive deployment in Southeast Asia.

The implementation contributes to SMCV’s sustainability initiatives by reducing dependence on printed diagnostic records. Through the digitalisation of ECG reports and other diagnostic information, the hospital expects to reduce ECG paper usage by up to 50%.

This move supports a more environmentally responsible healthcare environment while helping the hospital manage resources more efficiently. Ms Susan Cheow said the system not only improves clinical and operational efficiency but also supports responsible resource management through reduced paper consumption.

She added that digital clinical records represent a practical step towards building a smarter and more sustainable healthcare ecosystem while maintaining the quality, security and accessibility of patient information.

The deployment of the NORAV Comprehensive Clinical Management System reflects Sunway Medical Centre Velocity’s ongoing commitment to strengthening digital healthcare capabilities, improving operational efficiency and creating a more seamless and connected patient experience.

Commenting on the contract award, Managing Director Dato’ Wong Boon Ming said the project marks another positive milestone as the company continues expanding its recurring workforce management portfolio following its listing on the ACE Market.
