Bolt has launched a global integration with ChatGPT, allowing users to access its ride-hailing service directly through AI conversations for the first time. The move brings Bolt’s services to ChatGPT’s estimated 900 million weekly users, making it easier for travelers to plan and book rides without switching between multiple apps.

Through the integration, users can ask ChatGPT for a ride, receive an upfront fare estimate, compare available route options, check their driver’s estimated arrival time, and view the most convenient pickup location to reduce waiting time. Once they are ready to travel, the trip details are transferred to the Bolt app, where the booking is finalized.

The announcement reflects the growing role of artificial intelligence in travel planning. According to Accenture’s Consumer Pulse Research 2025, which surveyed 18,000 consumers across 14 countries, 80% of travelers worldwide now use AI tools for travel-related purposes. More than half of those surveyed said they would be comfortable allowing AI to fully manage their travel arrangements.

Afzan Lutfi, General Manager of Bolt Malaysia, said people increasingly plan their activities within AI conversations instead of using multiple apps. He noted that requesting a ride should be as simple as asking an AI assistant, seeing the estimated fare, and starting the journey.

At launch, payments will continue to be processed through the Bolt app. However, Bolt has confirmed that it plans to introduce direct in-ChatGPT payments for rides in the future, making the booking experience even more seamless. The integration highlights how AI is becoming a central platform for everyday digital services, enabling users to discover, compare, and access transportation more efficiently through natural conversations.
