This week is going to be great for fans of Korean drama! The starring ladies of the “Cheongdam International High School” high school drama series, Lee Eun-saem and Kim Ye-rim, will be in Malaysia to promote their latest drama.

In reality, the radio waves sent by the phones and base stations will encounter a large number of obstacles on their journey, undergoing various forms of refraction, reflection, and diffraction that ultimately cause the signal strength to weaken before it reaches its destination. Walking into an elevator or an underground pass will block most routes for the radio waves to travel, and crowded places — where hundreds or even thousands of similar signals are flying around at the same time — can cause interference. Even holding a phone horizontally when playing games or watching videos can block the phone’s antenna. Together, these everyday situations have a large impact on signal strength, leading to stuttering phone calls, forever-loading web pages, and even full disconnection.

YB Hannah Yeoh, Menteri Belia dan Sukan telah melancarkan Garis Panduan Pembangunan Sukan Elektronik Kebangsaan atau National Esports Development Guideline (NESDEG) pada hari ini sebagai langkah pertama ke arah pembangunan industri sukan elektronik Malaysia.

NESDEG diwujudkan rentetan dari Pelan Strategik Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) untuk Pembangunan Sukan Elektronik 2020-2025 (“Pelan Strategik Sukan Elektronik”). NESDEG dirangka dengan kerjasama antara Esports Integrated (ESI), Bahagian Dasar dan Perancangan Strategik KBS dan FUTURISE, sebuah syarikat di bawah Kementerian Kewangan dengan penglibatan semua pemegang taruh daripada sektor kerajaan dan swasta.

Matlamat NESDEG adalah untuk memberi panduan kepada semua pemegang taruh berkaitan tadbir urus yang lebih efektif, hak dan tanggungjawab dalam kalangan penggiat dan pemain industri selain menggariskan panduan dan prosedur untuk membuat keputusan, kawalan dalaman dan pengurusan risiko yang lebih baik.

KONSERT Search Rockin’ On Rooftop di bumbung Kompleks Campbell dan Konsert Barbarik – Pentas Keras di Zepp Kuala Lumpur tahun lalu memberi impak kuat terhadap peminat muzik rock tanah air.

Hampir semua menyifatkan ia konsert rock terbaik tanah air sepanjang tahun lalu. Malah, lebih sebulan selepas kedua-dua konsert yang berlangsung pada Jun dan Disember itu, peminat masih memperkatakannya. Ramai yang terus berkongsi pendapat serta memuat naik video konsert berkenaan di media sosial masing-masing.

Jadi, bayangkan impaknya apabila Search dan Barbarik bergabung pula pada Konsert Double Trouble 2 di Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam pada 5 Ogos ini.

Search yang dibarisi Noordin (gitar), Kid (gitar), Yan (bass), Denden (penyanyi) dan Minn (dram) bergabung pula dengan Barbarik yang dianggotai Joe Branko (gitar), Muss (penyanyi), Ainol (dram), Rozaimie (bass) dan Adi (keyboard) pastinya amat dinantikan peminat rock.

Konsert Double Trouble 2 dianjurkan Alpha Nation, manakala pengurusan produksi oleh Laskhar Entertainment & Playmad Sdn Bhd. Urusan promosi pula dilakukan Mewah Event Management (MEM).

Joe berkata, walaupun berdepan cabaran, mereka berjanji akan berikan yang terbaik untuk Konsert Double Trouble 2 nanti.

“Kedua-dua konsert Search dan Barbarik sebelum ini memang sukses. Inilah cabarannya buat kami untuk mengekalkan momentum konsert itu,” katanya.

Menurut Joe, kedua-dua band ini banyak berbincang, bertukar-tukar idea bagi memastikan konsert ini yang terbaik.

“Saya kerap berjumpa dan berbincang dengan Noordin dan Kid. Kami juga banyak mengadakan pertemuan dengan penganjur,” katanya.

Joe berkata, konsep mereka kali ini tidak banyak beza dengan konsert Double Trouble yang pernah dianjurkan sebelum ini.

Kemungkinan kedua-dua band akan menyampaikan 10 lagu dan mereka juga akan memainkan enam lagu bersama-sama.

“Mungkin ada enam lagu di mana Search dan Barbarik akan bersama-sama di atas pentas. Tapi ini bukan masing-masing nak tunjuk ‘terror’, bukan nak ‘battle’ apa semua, tapi kami akan main sama-sama.” katanya.

Penganjuran konsert ini berinspirasikan daripada album Double Trouble 2 yang menggabungkan Search dan Wings pada 1998.

Search ketika itu menampilkan Amy (penyanyi), Noordin (gitar), Kid (gitar), Fauzi (bass) dan Allahyarham Yazit (dram), manakala Wings pula dibarisi Muss (penyanyi), Joe (gitar), Eddie (bass) dan Black (dram).

Dalam pada itu, Noordin berkata, kelebihan Konsert Double Trouble 2 ini kerana ia menampilkan pemuzik generasi selepas mereka seperti Denden dan Minn dari Search serta Ainol, Adi dan Rozaimie dari Barbarik.

“Kali ini biar mereka pula buktikan. Saya, Kid, Yan, Joe dan Muss adalah orang lama dan semua peminat sudah tahu. Mereka pula pemuzik generasi selepas kami yang cukup berbakat,” katanya

With three additional security upgrades released today, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam or the Bank) announces that it has completed the implementation of the five main steps to combat financial frauds in its different online and mobile banking transaction platforms.

The implementation came earlier than the 30 June 2023 deadline set by Bank Negara  Malaysia (BNM) for all financial institutions to tackle the rise of payment-related fraud  incidents globally and domestically.

Customers can now self-protect their funds from online scams and temporarily  deactivate access to their Bank Islam Internet Banking (IB) account, GO by Bank Islam  (GO) and GO Biz by Bank Islam (GO Biz) banking apps through a new Kill Switch feature.  The new security element also immediately blocks all outgoing transactions from  customers’ Bank Islam Debit-i cards.

The Kill Switch feature is available on both mobile banking apps and IB, accessible by  clicking the “Kill Switch” button located on the main site of Bank Islam Internet Banking  homepage. Mobile app customers will be directed to the Kill Switch homepage in their  mobile browser once the “Kill Switch” button is clicked on the GO or GO Biz app.

The Bank will also execute a Cooling-off Period, a 12-hour waiting interval for any new  application or request made on IB, GO and GO Biz. The additional safety features include  first-time registration for IB, GO and GO Biz, account reregistration and forgot password

requests, change in transaction limit and update of email address, linking of accounts  and activation for online purchases using Bank Islam Debit Card-i.

The feature will be effective immediately once customers make a new request in the  settings of their online or mobile banking platforms. Its primary objective is to safeguard  customers’ accounts against fraudulent individuals attempting to transact without  authorisation. This cooling-off period grants customers additional time to respond  accordingly when they receive push notifications or emails regarding these modifications  made to their accounts.

The Bank has also fully migrated to an application-based authentication system, GO  Secure, to approve transactions initiated on IB and GO today. The transaction includes  fund transfers and payments, changes of personal information and account settings. The  more robust safety system, implemented in 2020, replaces the i-Access Code (IAC)  service sent via SMS to the customer’s registered mobile phone.

Previously, the Bank has implemented Device-binding security measures since the  inception of GO in 2019.

Device binding is the process of registering a single device as a customer’s trusted  appliance for banking. Once registered, customers are allowed access to GO or GO Biz  from the device. Bank Islam does not permit mobile banking services on rooted or  jailbroken gadgets. Customers must register their device via their IB account after  downloading GO or GO Biz to device-bind.

Bank Islam also introduced a Fraud Hotline through its Contact Centre on 15 December  2022, providing an around-the-clock, 24-hour, 7 days-a-week channel for customers to  report scams or potentially fraudulent activities on their accounts. Customers can call 03- 26 900 900 to make their report or enquiries.

Bank Islam Group Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Muazzam Mohamed, said, “The Bank empathise with the emotional and financial challenges that customers face when they

are affected by the action of irresponsible parties. We will continue to ensure that its  banking and payment channels remain secure and equipped with the latest security  controls, providing customers with peace of mind when banking with us.

He adds, “Some of the safety features may cause more time for customers to transact;  however, these measures are necessary to minimise monies lost due to the actions of  irresponsible parties.”

The Bank is not only enhancing the security features on Bank Islam’s central platform and  offering and tightening its security measures on its fully could-native digital banking  proposition, Be U (pronounced as ‘Be You’).

“Be U have BeSafe, an authenticity verification protocol for mobile transactions. BeSafe  offers a secure authentication method that mitigates the risk of potential scams,” Mohd Muazzam adds.

Bank Islam has recorded 1.79 million active Internet Banking users and about 1.4 million  active GO by Bank Islam users. The Bank is committed to ensuring the security of its various  banking platforms and safeguarding customers’ interests against fraudulent activities by  progressively deploying enhanced security measures.

Also, noting the importance of enhancing public consciousness of the scam as its modus  operandi continues to diversify and evolve, Bank Islam pledged to further create  meaningful value on digital financial literacy for customers in safeguarding their online  transactions.

The Bank will also encourage good banking practices amongst customers, such as  keeping safe custody of their debit-i and credit-i cards and not sharing vital credentials  with third parties, including passwords and PINs for ATM transactions.

Bank Islam strongly urges its customers never to download or click on ambiguous links and  apps, especially when they receive suspicious phone calls from dubious parties claiming

to be from a law enforcement agency, the Central Bank, or a financial institution such as  Bank Islam.

The major UK show for the events, meetings, and incentives community, The Meetings Show 2023, has received confirmation from Malaysia that she will be attending for the first time. From June 28–29, 2023, at the Excel London, the nation of Malaysia, under the direction of the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), plans to interact with and motivate leaders in the international sector.

Mr. Zain also highlighted that the occasion is made more meaningful and special with a booth launch organised on 27 June 2023. The launch is in conjunction with Hari Raya Eid-Adha, a festive occasion that is widely celebrated by Malaysians.

“We are taking the opportunity to directly transport visitors to the Malaysian experience and culture through this booth launch. We invite all to come meet and greet the team and savour Raya delicacies. The event will also be attended by pertinent parties of the country’s business tourism sector including the Malaysian Malaysian High Commission and Tourism Malaysia,” said Mr. Zain Azrai.
