  • Filem magiK untuk golongan masalah pendengaran bakal ditayangkan di pawagam

    Untuk menggambarkan dengan lebih menarik tentang keunggulan dan keistimewaan golongan yang menghadapi masalah pendengaran, 42nd Pictures Sdn Bhd, yang dijalankan oleh pasangan suami isteri, Yasu Tanaka dan Bea Tanaka, menghadirkan karya terbaru mereka, filem bertajuk “magiK.

    Filem bergenre drama, keluarga dan fantasi arahan Tanaka itu menampilkan barisan pelakon hebat seperti Beto Kusyairy, Nadia Aqilah, Nam Ron, Ruminah Sidek, Roy Azman, Kamarul Eqifshah dan bintang cilik, Qisya Hairulzain.

    Tanaka berkata, magiK yang juga filem kedua arahannya itu bukan sekadar mengangkat kisah gadis pekak yang mampu berkomunikasi dengan kelip-kelip, malah menjadi medium untuk penonton mendekati golongan berkenaan.

    “Idea menghasilkan “magiK” apabila idea kami disatukan iaitu hubungan isteri, Bea dengan komuniti pekak dan minat saya terhadap alam alam semula jadi.”

    Sehubungan itu, tayangan khas filem “magiK” diadakan di beberapa lokasi terpilih di seluruh Malaysia selama dua bulan pada September dan Oktober lalu sebelum ditayangkan di pawagam pada 30 November 2023.

    Tujuan tayangan khas itu ialah untuk berkongsi filem “magiK” dengan penonton. Selaku pengarah dan penulis skrip filem ini, Tanaka dan Bea yang juga penerbit turut turun padang di semua lokasi terbabit.

    Mengulas konsep tayangan khas berkenaan, Bea berkata, pihaknya mahu menampilkan kelainan untuk masyarakat luar bandar termasuk golongan bermasalah pendengaran supaya dapat menonton filem berkenaan.

    “Versi yang ditayangkan untuk tayangan khas ini ialah versi ‘closed caption’ yang memudahkan penonton dari komuniti bermasalah pendengaran.”

    “Filem “magiK” memaparkan masyarakat Kampung Kuantan, Kuala Selangor, Selangor dan kami mahu mendekati golongan sasaran seperti masyarakat luar bandar menerusi konsep tayangan khas ini.”

    “Kami berterima kasih kepada PORT Ipoh yang menaja tayangan di Ipoh untuk dua hari. Tayangan ini kami bekerjasama dengan Persatuan Orang Pekak Perak dengan menjemput komuniti pekak.

    “Kami juga menjemput sekolah pendidikan khas sekitar Ipoh dengan kerjasama Jabatan Pendaftaran Negeri (JPN) Perak,” katanya.

    Tanaka pula berkata, Bea adalah bekas guru pendidikan khas untuk golongan bermasalah pendengaran selama 15 tahun dan masih akrab dengan golongan istimewa itu.

    “magik” adalah filem kedua arahan Tanaka selepas Nota ditayangkan di pawagam pada 2015.

    Katanya, dia juga berpeluang melihat konsep tayangan wayang pacak pada 2017, apabila KOMFIT telah menjayakan Nota di mana En.Hassan Abdul Mutalib sebagai moderator ketika itu.

    “Pengalaman itulah yang mendorong kami mengadakan tayangan khas di Road Trip dengan konsep wayang pacak. Kami amat teruja berinteraksi secara langsung dengan penonton yang hadir pada tayangan khas berkenaan,” katanya.

    Sementara itu, tayangan khas filem “magiK” telah berlangsung dengan jayanya membabitkan tujuh lokasi terpilih di seluruh tanah air pada September dan Oktober lalu.

    Tayangan khas itu diadakan di Warung Adri, Kuantan pada 16 September lalu disusuli Pantai Telaga Papan (23 September) dan SPace08000, Sungai Petani (29 September). Malangnya Tayangan khas di Pantai Telaga Papan, Setiu, Terengganu tidak kesampaian kerana itulah satu-satunya lokasi di mana konsep wayang pacak berlaku tepi pantai “outdoors” sebab gangguan hujan.

    Selain itu, lokasi tayangan khas filem di YMCA, Kuala Lumpur (1 Oktober); YMCA, Georgetown, Pulau Pinang (7 Oktober); PORT, Ipoh, Perak (14 dan 15 Oktober) yang turut menjemput penonton dari komuniti bermasalah pendengaran. Tayangan khas “magiK” di YMCA KL adalah sebahagian dari sambutan ‘International Deaf Day’

  • Universal Music Malaysia released the highly anticipated debut album of DOLLA, titled “New Classic”

    The digital release of DOLLA’s debut album under the label, “New Classic,” was proudly announced today by Universal Music Malaysia. The album features seven tracks total—five new tracks and two previously released tracks—that expertly combine a variety of genres, from dance-pop to R&B. It was produced by both domestic and foreign producers, most notably Hyuk Shin from South Korea. The album highlights each member’s musical versatility with a wide range of emotions and musical styles, from upbeat, energetic tracks to soulful, mid-tempo pieces.

    Comprising of Angel, Sabronzo, Syasya and Tabby, DOLLA burst onto the Malaysian music scene in 2020 with their debut single, ‘DOLLA Make You Wanna’ and have been making waves ever since. Known for their dynamic, compelling, ambitious, and unapologetic approach towards their music and visual expression, DOLLA truly embodies the vibe of the current generation. To date, the group has released seven (7) solo singles and five (5) collaboration songs that have managed to capture the attention of local music fans and a global social media following.

    The album is set to redefine the essence of a classic bringing with it a new attitude, a fresh perspective of DOLLA’s unique sound and the narrative of empowerment honing on female strength. According to Tabby, other than being a highly entertaining album, ‘New Classic’ is ultimately about making a statement, “The new generation has a responsibility to make songs that will be the classics of the future. In that sense, DOLLA is on a constant mission to push the boundaries and put out songs that can be considered as ‘the new classics’ for generations to come”.

    She further explains, “We had about a year on average to work on the album. DOLLA as a group are heavily involved with the album’s creative process. For example, the song ‘drip’ is the first song that witnessed DOLLA members writing lyrics and composing the melody. For the album, we worked with some of the best writers and producers in the industry and collaborated with the producers to make the songs more customised to DOLLA. In short, we collectively ‘DOLLA-fy’ them, thus making the album a lot more personal to us”.

    As further asserted by Syasya, the youngest member of the group, “The recording process is pretty challenging as all songs in the album are very different from each other and have their own vibe that requires specific attention by each member of DOLLA. Thankfully, everyone that we worked with during recording process helped us a lot”.

    The seven (7) tracks that made up ‘New Classic’ are ‘CLASSIC’ (Title track), ‘DAMELO’, ‘MASA’, ‘drip’, ‘best side’, ‘BO$$ UP’ and ‘DAMELO (English version)’. The title track, ‘CLASSIC’ and ‘BO$$ UP’ are produced by Hyuk Shin, an A-list multi-platinum South Korean producer and songwriter. He has worked with global superstars such as Justin Bieber, Anderson Paak, Blackbear, Dean, NCT, Super Junior, TXT, Exo, Monsta X, Shinee, Girls’ Generation and many more.

    ‘CLASSIC’ in particular is written to set the tone for the album as a whole. Armed with an infectious beat and catchy lyrics, ‘CLASSIC’ is an empowering song about owning your power and standing out from the crowd. The music video for ‘CLASSIC’, also released today on YouTube, was fully filmed on location in Thailand. Essentially, this requires all four members of DOLLA to travel to Thailand and work with a production team made up of the country’s professional film crew.

    When asked about ‘CLASSIC’, Angel confessed that the song could be said to be one of her favourites from the album. She explains, “As a song, ‘CLASSIC’ truly represents DOLLA and where the group is currently heading. With lyrics that manifested a sense of dominance and power, it is also DOLLA’s first song with an anti-drop chorus and a cheerful bridge. I think it’s definitely a different approach to DOLLA’s usual type of song. On top of this, we are extremely excited for the release of the music video for ‘CLASSIC’. It’s a new experience for us to be shooting overseas for the first time and the production crew did not disappoint! Positively a remarkable work exposure for all of us”.

    Also included in the album is DOLLA’s most recent release, ‘DAMELO’, written and produced by Hard Lights. Meaning ‘Give It To Me’ in Spanish, it is a techno-Latin inspired track with a strong female empowerment message. Upon release, ‘DAMELO’ trended at #1 on overall videos and #2 in the music category on YouTube Malaysia. It accumulated over 200,000 views in 24 hours and over 500,000 views within 4 days. Since it was released three (3) months ago, ‘DAMELO’ has garnered 2.4 million views on YouTube. The song charted in Spotify Top 200 and Apple Music Top 200 within 7 days of release. These noteworthy achievements have cemented DOLLA’s status as one of the most impactful groups in the country’s music scene.

    Sabronzo says, “We think ‘New Classic’ perfectly represents the evolution of DOLLA and our signature sound. We’re excited to let our supporters in on what we’ve been brewing up this past year. For added durability, the ECM-W3 and ECM-W3S are designed to be dustproof and moisture proof, which allows for worry-free outdoor usage.

    In addition, the lightweight and portable charging case makes it possible to charge while on the move.

    Main features of the wireless/streaming microphone “ECM-S1”

    High-quality sound pickup performance and synchronization of sound and video by connecting to a camera

    The ECM-S1 is equipped with three large-diameter (14mm) capsules that corresponds to three sound pickup modes: Uni-directional, Omni-directional and Stereo, providing high-quality sound pickup with high sensitivity, and wide frequency characteristics. The microphone’s intrinsic low noise levels and wide dynamic range allows for clear recording of even the softest sounds.

    By tuning it to record human voices naturally and clearly, the microphone can capture realistic and rich textured sound during recording that is unique to streaming microphones. It also has a noise cut filter that effectively removes harsh noise through digital signal processing, and a low-cut filter that reduces unnecessary low-frequency noise such as wind, air conditioning, and vibration, thus reducing the effects of the surrounding environment. The ECM-S1 has a full range of functions that reduce noise and support high-quality sound pickup.

    A new sound pickup style with a compact, lightweight housing and versatile connectivity

    The ECM-S1 microphone is light, weighing just 157g, and compact at 63.0 mm x 137.5 mm x 63.0 mm(W/H/D) with an ultra-light and compact receiver that weighs 25g at 32 mm x 29 mm x 50 mm (W/H/D). The Bluetooth 5.3 (Bluetooth Low Energy) and LC3plus codec deliver low power consumption, low latency, and high sound quality. Using wireless connection allows for a recording style that remains unaffected by environmental conditions. You can also achieve a new level of sound pickup, enabling talks and singing accompanied by musical instruments to be recorded in high sound quality.

    For connectivity, the receiver can be attached to a compatible camera via it’s MI Shoe. The microphone and receiver are equipped with USB Type-C® terminals that support 48 kHz/24-bit digital audio output. As a result, the microphone can record high quality sound in a variety of ways, such as connecting the microphone wirelessly to a PC or smartphone via the receiver’s USB or connecting the microphone directly to a PC or smartphone via USB. The receiver also has a 3.5mm mini jack (stereo) as an audio output terminal.

    High operability that meets the needs of diverse creators

    The microphone is equipped with an independent dial that adjusts the sound recording level. The ECM-S1’s audio input level volume can also be adjusted intuitively with the upper dial while checking the audio input level in real time with the indicator lamps. The built-in LINK lamp indicates the communication status between the microphone and receiver to prevent any missed recording.

    When recording via a USB connection between the microphone and a PC or smartphone, headphones (commercially available) can be connected to the microphone’s headphone out jack to monitor the audio without involving the connected device. The headphone volume can also be adjusted with a short press of the dial on the bottom of the microphone. You can adjust the audio mixing ratio between the input volume level of the audio from the microphone and that of the audio from the computer or smartphone via the USB connection with the headphone volume/mixing ratio adjustment dial on the microphone.

    The ECM-S1 and receiver each have a built-in battery for extended use. The receiver can also be used continuously with the support of direct power supply when connected to the camera’s MI Shoe or a USB Type-C® cable. The microphone can be used continuously for up to 13 hours when the battery is fully charged using a USB Type-C® cable.

    In addition, a pop guard reduces popping noises that occurs when the speaker’s mouth is close to the microphone and their breath comes into direct contact with the microphone. This enables vocals, narration, and other audio to be recorded under optimal conditions. A stand that can be attached to the microphone is also included, allowing the microphone to stand without support while recording. The microphone angle can also be adjusted forward or backward. Alternatively, the stand can be removed when not in use and the 1/4” thread on the bottom of the microphone allows it to be mounted on a tripod or attached to a commercially available microphone arm.

    “Kenapa minggu keenam bagus-bagus semua?”. Itulah komen yang diberi oleh juri tetap Ajai selepas menyaksikan persembahan oleh kesemua duo peserta Famili Duo 2023. Selepas enam minggu bertanding, saingan duo peserta ternyata semakin sengit dengan vokal dan kreativiti di luar jangkaan apabila konsert Ahad lalu mencipta rekod dengan empat duo menerima markah ‘perfect 10’!

    Kini, kedudukan semakin sengit untuk menempah tempat di pentas akhir Famili Duo 2023. Konsert keenam yang bertemakan ‘retro 60s & 70s’ ini telah menyaksikan permainan pentas dan vokal yang lebih hebat oleh duo peserta, terutama sekali duo Sharif & Syaiful Zero, Tom & Fuad Rahman, Adira & Emma Suhaimi dan Syahir & Shila Amzah yang berjaya memenangi hati juri dengan markah penuh. Walaupun duo sepupu Haqiem Rusli & Ariff Bahran tidak diberikan markah ‘perfect 10’, tetapi mereka masih mengekalkan kedudukan mereka di tempat kedua pada carta keseluruhan Famili Duo 2023.

    “Sekarang ni kami masih di tempat kedua di carta keseluruhan, tapi itu bukan bermakna kami selesa dengan kedudukan itu. Markah tu apa-apa pun boleh jadi pada minggu hadapan, macam apa yang kami nampak minggu ini persembahan yang diberi peserta ‘underdog’ lain telah meraih markah perfect 10. Jadi kami kena terus bekerja keras untuk minggu dan tema seterusnya. Kami sedar minggu depan adalah penentu untuk mara ke pentas finale Famili Duo,” jelas Haqiem Rusli apabila ditemubual selepas konsert persembahan.

    Tambah Ariff Bahran pula, “Minggu depan kita diberi cabaran tema ‘hip hop / dance’ yang bukan genre kebiasaan kami. Sebenarnya kebanyakan genre dalam Famili Duo ni bukan ‘makanan’ kami, jadi kami cuba untuk tidak terlalu selesa dengan kedudukan markah setiap minggu. Jadi, kami tahu perlu beri seratus peratus pada setiap minggu, sebab kami sendiri tak pernah buat sketsa, lawak atau berlakon di pentas persembahan. Ini kali pertama kami perlu lebih kreatif untuk menyampaikan konsep dalam nyanyian, jadi kami akan terus memerah idea dan memberi persembahan sehabis baik untuk mengejar markah seperti sebelum ini”.

    Manakala bagi duo suami isteri Tom & Fuad Rahman dengan persembahan Janji Tetap Janji & Rahsiamu Rahsiaku berjaya mengatasi pasangan duo yang lain dan menduduki tangga kedua selepas membina momentum selama enam minggu bertanding.
