TPK Park Showcases Successful Urban Renewal with Malaysia Book of Records Recognition

Selangor’s commitment to rejuvenating mature townships, industrial parks and commercial areas through continuous renewal, strategic partnerships and private sector investment has helped transform Puchong into one of the Klang Valley’s leading Home & Living hubs. This was highlighted by Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility and Kinrara State Assemblyman, YB Ng Sze Han, during the Malaysia Book of Records presentation ceremony recognising TPK Park as the Largest Home & Living Retail Cluster in an Industrial Park.

Puchong’s evolution demonstrates how mature townships can continue generating long-term economic opportunities through commercial clustering, improved connectivity and sustained private sector investment. Today, the township has developed a strong Home & Living business ecosystem, making it an increasingly recognised destination for homeowners across the Klang Valley seeking renovation, furnishing and home improvement solutions.

TPK Park, which brings together 16 Home & Living operators across approximately 96,728 square feet and covers eight principal Home & Living categories, received official recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Home & Living Retail Cluster in an Industrial Park. The achievement highlights how a mature industrial development can evolve into a specialised commercial destination through continuous reinvestment and careful business curation.

Years of residential growth, enhanced connectivity through the LRT network, expanding commercial activity and sustained private sector confidence have created the critical mass needed for specialised business ecosystems to flourish. This complements the Selangor State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen mature commercial and industrial areas through collaboration with agencies such as Invest Selangor and Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ).

Unlike many industrial developments established decades ago, TPK Park has continued evolving alongside Puchong through continuous upgrading, environmental enhancements and the deliberate curation of complementary Home & Living businesses. Its recognition by the Malaysia Book of Records reflects how long-term stewardship can keep mature industrial developments relevant while contributing to a township’s broader economic transformation.

YB Ng Sze Han said Selangor’s next phase of economic growth will depend not only on attracting new investments, but also on unlocking the untapped potential of existing townships through continuous renewal and stronger public-private collaboration.

“Selangor’s next phase of growth is not only about developing new areas, but also about rejuvenating and giving new life to our mature townships, industrial parks and commercial centres. Today, TPK Park demonstrates how a conventional industrial park can be transformed into a vibrant Home & Living retail cluster through long-term vision, continuous reinvestment and decisive action. Vision and mission alone are not enough. They must be followed by action, and TPK Park is a good example of that,” he said.

He added, “Puchong has transformed remarkably over the past two to three decades from a small kampung into one of Selangor’s most vibrant modern townships. With a growing population of young families, more than 20 ongoing developments and strong connectivity, the township has reached a stage where specialised business ecosystems like Home & Living can continue to thrive. Located strategically between Selangor and Bukit Jalil, TPK Park is well positioned to serve not only Puchong, but also the wider surrounding communities, further strengthening its role within this growing Home & Living ecosystem.”

TPK Park Managing Director Dato’ Wong Shung Yen said, “Many industrial developments were built decades ago, but not all continued evolving with the communities around them. We believed that if Puchong kept growing, we had a responsibility to grow with it. That meant continuously upgrading our environment, curating complementary businesses and ensuring TPK Park remained relevant for the homeowners of today, not just those of thirty years ago.”

He added, “Successful destinations are never built by one organisation alone. They are shaped through shared commitment between government, local authorities, businesses and the community. We are grateful to the Selangor State Government, Invest Selangor and MBSJ for fostering an environment that gives businesses the confidence to continue investing in mature townships. Building on this momentum, we are committing more than RM1 million through a seven-figure investment programme for the next phase of placemaking and environmental enhancements at TPK Park, as we continue growing together with Puchong.”

TPK Park’s Malaysia Book of Records recognition, together with its announcement of a seven-figure investment programme worth more than RM1 million for its next phase of enhancements, illustrates how continuous reinvestment, commercial clustering and strong public-private collaboration can unlock long-term value within mature commercial and industrial areas. It reinforces the belief that successful townships are not built once, but are continuously renewed, reflecting Selangor’s broader commitment to strengthening mature townships as drivers of sustainable economic growth.
