PETALING JAYA, 27 JULY 2026 — The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) celebrated the achievements and contributions of Malaysia’s estate agency professionals at the 18th National Real Estate Awards (NREA) 2026, held at One World Hotel under the theme “Legacy of Excellence.”
Themed around the contributions of pioneers, visionaries and industry leaders, this year’s awards honoured those who have played a role in shaping Malaysia’s estate agency profession while highlighting the importance of professionalism, ethics and service excellence for future generations. The event was attended by Yang Berhormat Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Finance, alongside industry leaders, practitioners and stakeholders.
NREA 2026 received 117 submissions across 23 award categories, reflecting the continued emphasis on professional recognition and higher standards within the estate agency sector. One of the key highlights was the strong response to the MIEA Million Dollar Achievers (MMDA) categories, which recorded the highest number of submissions to date despite the introduction of two separate categories this year.
A total of 34 recipients were recognised for achieving professional fees between RM1 million and RM2.999 million, while another seven recipients recorded professional fees exceeding RM3 million. Collectively, submissions for this year’s MMDA categories represented approximately RM78 million in professional fees, compared with approximately RM43.9 million recorded in 2025.
MIEA President Kelvin Yip said the strong participation demonstrated the estate agency profession’s continued commitment to professionalism, integrity, trust and continuous improvement. He noted that the industry has continued to evolve over the years while remaining anchored by these fundamental values, adding that the achievements recognised at NREA 2026 could inspire more practitioners to uphold professional standards and contribute to the continued development of the sector.
The credibility of the National Real Estate Awards was further reinforced by its comprehensive judging process. According to MIEA Vice President Ethan Leong, every submission underwent a five-month evaluation process involving audits, independent judging and detailed deliberation to ensure that entries were assessed fairly, consistently and transparently. He emphasised that the “Legacy of Excellence” extends beyond the award recipients to reflect the collective efforts of practitioners who continue to improve their practices, embrace innovation and uphold professional standards.
Among the awards presented was the prestigious Real Estate Agent of the Year Award, which recognises an individual regarded as a role model within the estate agency profession, including within their firm, the association and among fellow industry practitioners.
