Global Turbine Asia Partners with UTeM, AMRACE and PT3 to Accelerate Workforce Readiness

Global Turbine Asia Sdn. Bhd. (GTA), a Malaysia-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for aircraft engines and a certified Maintenance Centre for Safran Helicopter Engines, has entered into three strategic collaborations with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), AMRACE Sdn Bhd, and PT3 Consultant Sdn Bhd. The partnerships are aimed at strengthening the country’s aerospace talent pipeline through a more integrated approach to education, training, and workforce development.

The collaborations reflect GTA’s long-term strategy to develop a sustainable ecosystem that connects academic institutions, training providers, and industry stakeholders. By aligning these three key components, the initiative seeks to ensure that talent development is directly responsive to the evolving needs of the aerospace sector in Malaysia and beyond.

Under this framework, UTeM will play a key role in supporting academic development and curriculum relevance, particularly in aerospace manufacturing and technical disciplines. At the same time, AMRACE and PT3 will focus on structured training programmes, skills enhancement, and workforce readiness initiatives designed to produce industry-ready professionals.

A major component of the initiative is the creation of structured pathways for Malaysian veterans to transition into civilian aerospace careers. Through targeted training, certification, and job placement programmes, the collaborations aim to provide veterans with practical skills and opportunities to re-enter the workforce in high-value technical roles within the aviation industry.

The partnership with AMRACE includes the implementation of a structured 14-week programme that combines core technical training with hands-on practical exposure. GTA will support candidate sourcing and employer engagement, while AMRACE will oversee training delivery, assessment, certification, and placement coordination to ensure a smooth transition into employment.

Meanwhile, PT3 Consultant Sdn Bhd will complement these efforts by strengthening technical competency development and workforce preparation. This includes apprenticeship programmes, structured learning modules, and industry-based training designed to enhance employability and align skills with real-world aerospace requirements.

In addition, GTA has formalised a Letter of Intent with UTeM to contribute industry insights for the Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Machining (Aerospace Manufacturing) programme. This collaboration ensures that academic curriculum development remains aligned with industry standards while improving graduate readiness for aerospace manufacturing careers.

GTA Executive Chairman Datuk Nonee Ashirin Datuk Mohd Radzi said the aerospace sector depends heavily on strong human capital development and continuous skills enhancement. She noted that the collaborations represent a strategic step towards building a more connected ecosystem where education, training, and industry work together more effectively.

She further emphasised that the initiative is not only about training but also about creating long-term career pathways, supporting workforce mobility, and ensuring sustainable talent supply for Malaysia’s aerospace ambitions. According to her, collaboration between industry and academia is essential in building a resilient and future-ready workforce.

Through these strategic partnerships, GTA continues to strengthen its role in Malaysia’s aviation support industry by focusing on talent development, technical capability building, and workforce transition support. The company aims to contribute to a more robust aerospace ecosystem that supports both industry growth and national aspirations.
