    ACE Lancar ASEAN Energy Outlook Ke-8, Terajui Usaha Peralihan Tenaga di AMEM ke-42

    ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) dengan bangganya mengumumkan pelancaran ASEAN Energy Outlook edisi ke-8 (AEO8) di Mesyuarat Menteri-menteri Tenaga ASEAN (AMEM) ke-42, yang berlangsung sempena Forum Perniagaan Tenaga ASEAN ke-42 (AEBF-24) di Vientiane, Lao PDR.

    AEO8 merupakan laporan penting yang dihasilkan oleh ACE melalui kerjasama erat dengan Negara-negara Anggota ASEAN (AMS) dan rakan kongsi lain, dalam usaha menyokong pelaksanaan Pelan Tindakan Kerjasama Tenaga ASEAN (APAEC).

    Laporan ini memberikan analisis menyeluruh mengenai setiap sektor dalam landskap tenaga ASEAN serta garis panduan untuk mencapai sasaran tenaga serantau dan nasional menjelang 2050.

    Majlis pelancaran turut disertai oleh Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, yang juga memegang portfolio Menteri Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air, serta bertindak sebagai Timbalan Pengerusi Mesyuarat AMEM ke-42.

    Dalam hantaran di akaun Facebook rasminya, beliau menekankan komitmen Malaysia terhadap beberapa isu penting dalam bidang tenaga, termasuk inisiatif Grid Tenaga ASEAN (APG), pembangunan tenaga yang inklusif dan saksama, serta aspirasi negara untuk mencapai sasaran pelepasan sifar karbon melalui pelan National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), pelan Hydrogen Economy & Technology Roadmap (HETR), serta New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP).

    Dalam ucapan pembukaan Majlis Bersama AMEM ke-42 dan AEBF-24, H.E. Phosay Sayasone, Menteri Tenaga dan Galian Lao PDR, menekankan kepentingan AEO8 sebagai panduan dasar bagi memastikan keterjaminan dan ketahanan tenaga di masa hadapan. Beliau menyatakan bahawa laporan ini bukan sahaja relevan dengan objektif negara tetapi juga seiring dengan visi ASEAN untuk pembangunan mampan.

    AEO8 diterbitkan menggunakan data yang dikumpul oleh kumpulan kerja dari setiap negara anggota ASEAN, dengan sokongan daripada Regional Energy Policy and Planning Sub-Sector Network (REPP-SSN).

    Menyusuli ASEAN Energy Outlook edisi ke-7 yang dilancarkan di Phnom Penh pada 2022, AEO8 menawarkan analisis yang lebih mendalam dan unjuran untuk setiap sektor tenaga di ASEAN, bermula dari 2022 hingga 2050, sejajar dengan usaha ASEAN untuk mencapai neutraliti karbon.

    Pemangku Pengarah Eksekutif ACE, Beni Suryadi, menjelaskan bahawa ACE komited untuk memperkukuh keterjaminan, kebolehcapaian, keterjangkauan, dan kelestarian tenaga di seluruh ASEAN.

    Menurutnya, AEO8 bertujuan memberikan pandangan menyeluruh mengenai landskap tenaga ASEAN, berfungsi sebagai panduan penting bagi negara anggota dalam pelaksanaan APAEC, dan membantu mencapai sasaran tenaga serantau dan nasional menjelang 2050.

    Laporan AEO8 mendedahkan bahawa permintaan tenaga di ASEAN dijangka meningkat 2.6 kali ganda menjelang 2050 berbanding tahun 2022.

    Peningkatan pesat ini menunjukkan keperluan mendesak bagi negara-negara ASEAN untuk beralih kepada sumber tenaga bersih sambil mengekalkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan memenuhi permintaan tenaga yang semakin meningkat di rantau ini.

    ACE

    AEO8 turut membentangkan empat senario berbeza untuk memberikan gambaran yang lebih komprehensif mengenai landskap tenaga ASEAN. Baseline Scenario (BAS) menggambarkan situasi jika tiada langkah tambahan diambil untuk mencapai sasaran tenaga yang lebih cekap dan boleh diperbaharui.

    AMS Target Scenario (ATS) pula menjelaskan hasil yang mungkin dicapai jika setiap negara mengekalkan strategi tenaga sedia ada. Regional Aspiration Scenario (RAS) pula memberi tumpuan kepada pengoptimuman kos rendah sambil mematuhi sasaran APAEC 2025. Akhirnya, Carbon Neutrality Scenario (CNS) menekankan laluan ke arah neutraliti karbon menggunakan teknologi pelepasan rendah, sejajar dengan sasaran APAEC.

    Antara penemuan utama AEO8 ialah peningkatan ketara dalam permintaan tenaga di sektor industri dan pengangkutan, yang masih bergantung kepada bahan bakar fosil seperti arang batu dan petroleum. Menurut AEO8, menjelang 2025, kapasiti tenaga yang diperoleh daripada sumber boleh diperbaharui akan mencapai 39.6%, manakala pengurangan Intensiti Tenaga (Energy Intensity) akan mencapai 31%. Menjelang 2030, 23.5% daripada jumlah Total Primary Energy Supply (TPES) akan datang daripada sumber tenaga boleh diperbaharui.

    Teknologi tenaga baru juga mula muncul dalam campuran tenaga ASEAN. Dalam senario CNS, teknologi nuklear dijangka diperkenalkan menjelang 2032, manakala teknologi penjanaan tenaga pasang surut dan gelombang akan mula wujud menjelang 2035. Bahan api baru seperti hidrogen dan Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) juga dijangka diperkenalkan di rantau ASEAN menjelang 2023 dan 2025.

    Sebagai penutup, AEO8 dijangka menjadi sumber rujukan kritikal dalam usaha negara anggota ASEAN mencapai keterjaminan, kebolehcapaian, keterjangkauan, dan kemampanan tenaga di rantau ini. Melalui analisis dan unjuran yang mendalam, laporan ini akan membantu negara-negara ASEAN menangani cabaran peralihan tenaga dan mencapai matlamat tenaga jangka panjang di masa hadapan.

    Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in Malaysia, the event employed a variety of formats to engage participants. Central to the programme was a two-day conference, accompanied by Tech Lab sessions and product showcases.

    At the conference, speakers presented in-depth yet approachable insights on AI, digital twins, ESG implementation and other relevant smart manufacturing topics. Dr Chua Wen-Shyan, Head of Malaysian Smart Factory at SHRDC, the conference co-organiser, explained: “Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur’s conference brings in technology experts to share global trends and perspectives. We have topics ranging from how smart factories are created internationally to where the Malaysian industry is today in comparison to global benchmarks.     SME Corp. Malaysia Menjana Gelombang ESG di ASEAN Hong Kong, China

    Dalam satu peristiwa yang menggema di kalangan perniagaan, SME Corp. Malaysia telah berjaya menganjurkan ASEAN Hong Kong, China (AHKC) SMEs Going ESG Policy Dialogue and Workshop 2024 dengan gegap gempita di Hotel Sunway Putra. Lebih daripada 300 peserta dari perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (PKS) di Malaysia, serta negara-negara ASEAN dan Hong Kong, China, telah berkumpul untuk memperdalam pemahaman tentang amalan Alam Sekitar, Sosial, dan Tadbir Urus (ESG) dalam konteks perniagaan.

    Acara yang mencetuskan semangat inovasi ini telah berfungsi sebagai platform utama untuk bertukar-tukar ilmu dan amalan terbaik dalam bidang kelestarian di kalangan PKS. Dibuka secara rasmi oleh YB Datuk Ewon Benedick, Menteri Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi, acara ini telah menarik perhatian semasa sambutan Hari PMKS Sedunia 2024 dengan tema “Memperkasa Kelestarian PKS”.   • ATOZERO ASEAN 2023, THE GATEWAY TO MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR NET ZERTRANSITION PROJECTS IN ASIA, KICKS OFF AT IGEM

    The AtoZero (Accelerate To Net Zero) ASEAN Summit, co-organised by Constellar and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), kicked off this morning with 700 leaders from the net zero value chain participating in the 3-day event. Co-located and held concurrently with the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2023, the Summit is part of a global series of events dedicated to net zero transition through driving leadership dialogues, investments and innovations around Asia’s net zero pathways.

    Powered by clean energy solutions provider, Gentari, AtoZero ASEAN emerges as the gateway to multi-billion dollar net zero transition projects in Asia. Southeast Asia’s power sector alone would require US$184 billion investment between 2021-2025 in the baseline scenario.

    The Summit also unveiled the Zero Club, a unique and exclusive feature across the AtoZero Global series in ASEAN, India and China, welcoming policymakers, CEOs and think-tank leaders to connect, collaborate and co-create positive impact across the net zero value chain. Zero Club at AtoZero ASEAN serves as a networking platform to connect the most important stakeholders of net zero transition to spark influential dialogues in accelerating net zero transition across Asia.

    Delivering the keynote address, the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said, “For ASEAN to be a determining factor in the just energy transition, we need to discuss and reach consensus on pressing and pertinent topics such as regional inter-connectivity partnerships, energy storage, carbon capture, green financing, hydrogen economy and ASEAN future grid among others.”

    “AtoZero ASEAN’s inclusion into IGEM is significant in enabling us to race to net zero and demonstrate leadership in climate action by significantly influencing policy makers and game changers in the net zero arena. The event’s focus on accelerating ASEAN’s net zero transition highlights the importance of regional partnership to support this transition, fostering the kind of conversations we need to have to take our actions in ASEAN to the next tangible level for real impact,” he added.

    AtoZero ASEAN’s overarching aim is to bring together key decision makers and changemakers to comprehensively explore pathways, policies and business opportunities to drive the global net zero transition agenda. The three-day programme will see over 100 subject matter experts from around the world sharing insights on net zero dialogues and partnerships.
