SEEK, the parent company of Jobstreet by SEEK, has officially launched SEEK Pass, a verified credential passport, in Malaysia and five other Asian markets. This innovative tool is designed to help job seekers stand out in an increasingly competitive job market by allowing them to pre-verify their credentials on Jobstreet and Jobsdb, two of the region’s leading employment platforms.
With Malaysia witnessing a 35% year-over-year surge in job applications per listing from 2023 to 2024, SEEK Pass is set to address the growing challenge of visibility for job seekers while streamlining the hiring process for employers. The verification feature enables recruiters to shortlist candidates with greater confidence, ensuring faster and more reliable hiring decisions.

“As Malaysia’s leading employment marketplace, our goal is to match the right people with the right jobs. SEEK Pass strengthens this mission by giving job seekers an edge while helping employers make informed hiring decisions with trusted information,” said Nicholas Lam, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK in Malaysia.
The rapid expansion of SEEK Pass across Asia follows the integration of SEEK, Jobstreet, and Jobsdb onto a unified platform last year, which has enabled faster product innovation and deployment. SEEK Pass leverages partnerships with credential verification companies like Accredify to authenticate educational qualifications from participating universities, starting with Sunway University in Malaysia.

Xavier Russo, General Manager of SEEK Pass, highlights the success of the product in Australia and New Zealand, where 40% of job applications now include verified credentials. Applications with verified credentials in these markets are 10% more likely to be shortlisted than those without verification.
Currently, SEEK Pass offers a range of verification capabilities across Asia. While all six markets can verify workplace credentials, Malaysia stands out with additional features, including identity verification and educational qualification checks. Over time, SEEK aims to expand the list of verifiable credentials, following the model in Australia and New Zealand, where more than 20 credential types are now available.
As part of SEEK’s long-term vision, the company is working towards strengthening partnerships with local government authorities and agencies to expand credential verification services across Asia. This initiative aims to create a more efficient and reliable employment ecosystem that benefits both job seekers and employers.
